That version of him may be a little undersized - I've seen estimates ranging from 1000 km diameter in planet mode (not counting ring) to 30,000 km in diameter in planet mode, in a few moments of searching, and I doubt those are the only estimates out there.

I'm guessing they'll keep whatever is/was canon. Like with Executor. 120 km. is big enough for a moon, and it's big enough to make common Imperial warships look small in comparison.

It seems "dramatic effect" is one reason they'll change something, however. Not that DS-I needs any more dramatic effect at 120 km.

I hope they'll include another superlaser attack on a planetary body in Rogue One. Seems like it's pointing that way with the "weapons test" in the trailer.

The Eclispe is a great metaphor for the Dark Empire comics it came out off. Its aesthetic as hell, but there it serves no real purpose from a continuity perspective and its pertmantly plagued by the awful writing that spawned it into existance and killed it in its prime, not once but twice

Im glad it got some sort of redemption in Empire at War. And i will be surprised if Episode 8 dosent have a similuar Big Black Scary Super Star Destreyor, maybe even with a superlaser, but i doubt anyone has the intent or the kahones to rip a SSD straight out of the old EU

So is there some wish list of Expanded Universe ships people want to see either in canon in a large way or on the screen? I appreciate opinions vary, but i there any census between fans like there is about EU characters people really want to see again.

I'd love to see Victory-class star destroyers escorting the Imperial-class ones in Rogue One. Tarkin novel recanonized them - but it would be great to see them, live-action.

The Imperious-class. I don't even know why but it's my absolute favourite.

I thought the Vengeance-class was supposed to be a 19km dreadnought with similar capabilities to the Executor-class? That was the way it was usually portrayed, anyway - in books like Starships of the Galaxy, and possibly The Essential Guide to Warfare.

E-wings as a proper X-wing replacement. That might mean some slight differences from the old canon but I'd be fine with that.

I don't see how the Vengeance-class could have similar capabilities to the Executor-class, over-sized toothpick that it is.

EGtW doesn't say anything on capabilities, only that three of them participated in the Reborn Emperor's initial campaign, IIRC. I can't comment on Starships of the Galaxy, but within the Dark Forces-games the class is eleven km long at best, not nineteen. Because of its lack of volume and mass in comparison to other dreadnought-designs I find the classification of battle cruiser more fitting.

Speaking of the Vengeance-class battle cruiser reminded me of the Victory-class frigate http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Victory_II-class_frigate .

Do you think, that it might be a viable alternative to the Arquitens-class light cruiser http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_light_cruiser ?

Personally, given the general love of unused Ralph McQuarrie concepts on Rebels, I hope we might be seeing this bad boy sometime in Season 3:

Since they have a habit of showing precursor designs based on early concept art, a command ship like that would be a shoe-in.

Despite my preference for "pickle ships", the Praetor-class remains one of my favs. It would definitely look great in Rebels, especially if they wanted to provide a villain with a suitably imposing flagship.

SOTG2 had it as a Executor-variant, "visually distinct" but otherwise the same. The first usage of the term Vengeance-class (officially) was the EGTW. Note that it was not explicitly said that the Vengeance was that class, but I think that's a reasonable assumption to make.
Discussion of its length is pointless, considering the varying length of what people thought the Executor was at the time JK came out - the EGTW was the last chance for that. Let's say 'really long' and leave it at that.

I don't doubt, that SOTG2 calls it an Executor-variant, that is "visually distinct, but otherwise the same", it just doesn't make sense, considering how narrow and low its hull is. I wouldn't be surprised, if the SOTG2 actually intended to call it a SuperStarDestroyer-variant, not Executor-variant (since Executor and SuperStarDestroyer have become synonymous to many).

No matter what we call it, it remains an oversized toothpick.

I think this works if the T-70 is the current cutting edge Incom/Frietek (thank you Jason Fry!) fighter. If the T-85 is a whole new airframe and not just a T-70 variant, it gets a little harder to fit the E-Wing in. Three fighters in thirty years from the same company seems like a lot.

I'm really into the new A-wing. Like the T-70, it is familiar yet has unique attributes. Seems more aerodynamic and sleek. I'm still very hopeful that we get some new "-wing" fighters though. There are some cool concepts in the Art of TFA book.

Indeed. Computer games are all very well - but seeing these sort of things on the TV screen would be better still.

    Defender prototypes in Rebels perhaps?
