JCC Flopfest 2023 Year In Review - rank the flops!

I just love the idea of a big floppy flopper-astic , big wobblly y'know floperella , we can all get behind . I mean - isn't that why we're all really here.

Superhero movies finally going for an adventure in Floppoland is weirdly satisfactory, and to me it does feel like it was long overdue. Will we see a comeback? Hard to say, but it might finally be the time in which people are like "maybe I've watched slightly different variations of the same movie long enough, and I can try something new for a change".

 

Spider-Man has been on a boom - bust -boom cycle independent of the woes of WB DC and Disney Marvel. We won’t be rid of those Sony movies for a while. Web Girl starring Dakota Fanning! A Venom animated spiderverse “spinoff” if you will! That will all expand like mustard gas in a World War I trench to fill any gaps left by Disney and WB.

They really should have had this at the center of the marketing. I'm in.
