Anyway, have you ever wondered what would have happend if she had survived?

...How their love would have survived the disapproval of the Council??

I think Qui-Gon would've broken the rules, like Anakin. He's kind of rebellious that way. Love that about him.

I think they'd have broken the code secretly, and gone on together if Madam Watson hadn't brought on her wrath on them .

I actually have never read the books with Tahl in them, so I'm completely making it up.

I'll refer you to the The Qui-Gon Jinn Story Index. If you search for 'Tahl' then that will lead you to them.

I like to think that if Tahl had survived that she and Qui-Gon would have figured out a way under the rules to stay in the Order and stay together. Otherwise, they might have left the Jedi which would have been very traumatic for both of them.

 

Honestly, I can't see Qui-Gon leaving the Jedi for Tahl. I agree that I think they would have tried to work around the system but given the choice, I don't think he would have left.

 

She appears in almost all the Jedi Apprentice books from about number 5-15, when she dies (sob). I made the mistake of reading the 15th book first.. It was so sad, I bawled my eyes out . (sniffles)

This might be off topic, but I was wondering how Tahl would feel about Shmi/Qui together...and well, I was wondering about the whole Qui/Shmi thing. If anyone wants to know what I think, I have a few words to say to Quiggy?

ME: Hey, Quiggy!
Quiggy: What?
ME: How DARE you pledge your life to Madamoiselle Tahl, and then, after she died, go and flirt with some Qui-stealer!!
Quiggy: Eeek!
TAHL: Yeah!
Quiggy: I thought you were dead!
TAHL: The author let me come back to life! And now I shall have my revenge!!!! Muahaaa!!!!!
Quiggy: Mommy..(covers head and curls into fetal position)

I used to be a Qui-Gon/Shmi fan, but after reading about Tahl, and actually writing a fic about her, I absolutely adored the character and now I'm a Tahl/Qui-Gon fan. Funny how things work out when you start writing about them - you actually get to know them better.

Yeah, it really is hard to picture Qui-Gon leaving the Jedi Order for Tahl. Or leaving the Jedi Order at all. That's more of a 'what if' scenario I suppose. Like maybe, Qui-Gon getting fired or something.

But it is just as unlikely that Tahl would give up being a Jedi for Qui-Gon. They both seem very dedicated to the Jedi and would both work very, very hard to keep a relationship down to the level where the Order could 'overlook' it.

 

I think that Qui would have to do something REALLY bad to get expelled or kicked out. And, well, yeah, I agree, they probably would've kept it down just enough so the Council didn't notice.

I don't think there was a thing between Shmi and Qui-Gon. He was too interested in Anakin to pay any attention to her.

How would Bant and Obi-Wan feel about their master's relationship if Tahl had survived.

 

Gasp! I was just thinking that! I know they found out in JA 16... I think they might have ignored it. i don't know, maybe if they confronted Qui-Gon, he'd have a temper fit.. eek!

That's an interesting idea, but I think that Bant and Obi-Wan would be supportive of the masters...I don't know, they seem rather loyal. And besides, I think it'd be pretty hard to ignore if your master were did something that could potentially get him kicked out of the Jedi Order .

 

Hmmm.. good point. I wonder just how loyal they are; how far will they let it go?

Are they teenagers at that time? Because, you know, most teenagers would probably be mortified and see Tahl and Qui-Gon as making complete fools of themselves.


Bant: "Oh no, they were kissing, Obi-Wan! That was a kiss!"
Obi-Wan: "No way! My master would never do that."
Bant (brisling): "As if my master would. Your master must've made her."
Obi-Wan: "They were not kissing!" And after a brief silence, groaning: "Why can't they just act their age?"
Bant: "Why can't they be like all the other masters? Everybody else has a normal master."
Obi-Wan (a little bitter): "Welcome to my world."

I wonder, if they got married, what Bant and Obi's reactions would be..

Qui: Tahl, will you marry me?
(Bant and Obi are being naughty and eavesdropping)
Bant: DID YOU HERE THAT?!
Obi Wan: Yup?
Bant: I TOLD YOU SO!!!
Obi Wan: Ouch.. my ears? They must be drunk.
Bant: Hello?! They?re drinking APPLE JUICE!!
Obi Wan: Well.. I know something you don?t know..
Bant: What?
Obi Wan: Quiggy?s sweetheart?s having Mace?s kid! And Quiggy himself?s the dad of this blonde-kid called Anakin who?s gonna take over my life in ten years!!

I could see Tahl and Qui quietly having a relationship under the Council's nose - in fact, I wrote such a one shot.

Qui went off the deep end because of Tahl's death so shortly after they came to a full realization of their love - had not such an event intervened at such a time, they would probably have found a way to integrate love into their Jedi lives - but I think it would have impacted Obi more than Bant - Obi always seemed to come after Tahl and everyone else to Qui.

Oh gosh - plot bunnied myself - look for a short story in a few months.

Really? I SOOO need to read some of the JA books. I hope they'll be here soon.

Qui (Turns red): My affairs are none of your business!
Obi (pouts): But you?re my Master! I?m supposed to take care of you!
Qui: It?s the other way around.
Obi (sweetly): Then, I suppose you can help me with my newest kata ?right now!
Qui (looks at Obi) (looks at window) (looks back at Obi) : Do I haaave to?
(Tahl?s voice sounds from below) : Hey, Qui, will you hurry up?
Obi (shoves Qui aside and leans out the window) :He?s busy. And plus, he doesn?t want to see you anymore because he?s found out that Master Gallia is hot!
Tahl: Qui?
Qui: No!
Obi: Yes!
Tahl: Nevermind. I?ll go to dinner with Mace instead.
(Tahl walks away)
Qui: Obi-Wan Kenobi?
Obi (sensing danger): What?
Qui: You are so finished.
Obi (squeaks): Uh-oh.. Do you really mean that, Master?
Qui (nods seriously): Yup.
Obi: Help me, Force.. (faints)

Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that I changed the first post..(notice how I highlited according to the color of her eyes...tee hee ).

Also I was wondering whether or not people wanted to do writer challenges. So I'm going to have all of you Qui-Gon and Tahl fans out there vote. Just post on this thread whether or not you'd like to have writer challenges.

Just a suggestion/plot bunny: (however weird it is..)

There could be an Adi-Tahl-Qui love triangle, and Qui has to choose between the two of them : Tahl or Adi?
