In the Force Unleashed games, Starkiller kills several Jedi during his travels.

When he kills Kasdan Paratus, a glowing blue beam of energy shoots up out of his chest. Why does this happen?

It happens again when Shaak Ti dies, the same blue beam.

It also happens when Starkiller's dark copy is killed in the Jedi Temple DLC, though this is a bit more ambiguous, as it could all be an illusion anyway.

However, this never happens in the films, TCW or Rebels. So what is this beam? Is it somehting to do with force ghosting.

Notably, the beam doesn't appear in either ending when Vader, Kota or Starkiller himself die. It never happens in any of the DLCs or the sequel.

So does anyone have an explanation for the blue beam?

I have never seen the beam you talk about, can it be some kind of force energy that he collects everytime from killing someone. Because that's the only time I see some blue beam.

It might be his Force Energy.

Yeah, there's no actual explanation that I know of. The consensus seems to be it's some combination of the Jedi becoming One with the Force and them separating from their environments, and that the violent blue explosions are just a way to show the player that yes, they are dead.

    They just made it up.

And to have Shaak Ti get beaten by Starkiller is the most ridiculous and absurd thing about the game, imo.

I think the whole timeline things are off balance because of the Dark Side, it has destroyed or atleast eclipsed the light , so literally the Force is unleashed. Maybe when all Jedi die, their is an invisble light, after all Yoda says when Jedi when die they become one with the Force and luminous beings are we not this crude matter. So being that these are the "Dark Times", the light is visible to the naked eye, while before it was not? Or maybe we're watching things through Starkiller's eyes, and he sees different spectrums do to the Force and his powers, or all Force users can see things invisble to non-Force users?! Or maybe thats also why they burn their dead, to symbolize the light and becoming one with the Force?

Kasdan was especially powerful in the Force, he was mad but at the same time estremely powerful, he was creating droids left and right and infusing them all with the Force, likely coming from himself obviously as they were controlled by his will. Darth Maul did something similar when he created his droid-like spider lower, was held together by the Force and his will alone.

Shaak Ti and Kasdan Paratus were both using the Force in unorthodox manners, and possibly both were harnessing the dark side whether knowling or not. So them turning into light was that they both died like Jedi and were redeemed and the Lightside was taking their lifeforce energy essence and becoming stronger against the Dark Side.

They used a similar effect in the burial chamber in TCW, so something symbolic is going on:
