Fabulous episode. This series gets better and better as less and less people watch it.

    Christopher Lloyd on Fringe

"True! Back to the Future?s Doc Brown has been cast as a musical hero of Walter?s who?s been in a nursing home and becomes the subject of a Fringe investigation. ?Christopher plays Roscoe Joyce, a keyboardist for Walter?s favorite 1970's band Violet Sedan Chair,? explains exec producer J.H. Wyman. Fellow EP Jeff Pinkner adds, ?The lives of these two men, who have never met before, overlap in strange and unexpected ways.?

I know what you mean. I was under the impression that they'd resolve the alt-universe theme quickly after the first 2 or 3 eps this season, but they've run with it really well: setting entire episodes within the alt-universe with no cut scenes to the "real" universe.

But there was an article the other day (forgot what news service) that said Fringe's ratings are falling. Not good. It's not certain, but the article implied Fringe is in danger. It's already been moved back because of the baseball playoffs, and it'll happen further now that the World Series has yet to be played. If the World Series does in fact reach 7 games, then it could push back two eps in a row, which won't help the ratings.

Super-stoked for Fringe's return. It's been a long few weeks.

    Fringe Recap

I really disliked Anna Torv at the beginning of this show. I was dead wrong. She's getting better and better, and is fully matched by the incredible John Noble as Walter and Walternate.

Last night's episode was awesome. I felt a lot of tension as the Fringe division investigated Iceman's breaking out Jimmy Olsen. I had a hard time pulling for the Fringe team to solve the case because it such a terrible thing that had taken place. I also loved Anna Torv in the episode. She played the "fraying" Olivia Dunham so well...and then when she just accepted what Peter was telling her by going back in the tank and calling Ella, that was just a solid ending. She knows now that she's not BOlivia and things are going to get intense in the next few weeks.

If John Noble does not WIN (a nomination should be a given by this point) an Emmy this year, then the Emmy's should be given the amber treatment :p

Not only does he continue to be brilliant as Walter Bishop, but he is downright fantastic in the role of Walternate. Like many dictators and rulers before him, Walternate is looking at things being for the greater good and has no qualms about making sacrifices to "restore balance". Does that mean he is even willing to sacrifice his own son to make these occurences stop? The way he methodically handles the drugs and pushing limits without any care where as Walter would push on but was more concerned with the patient's wellbeing perfectly showed just how dangerous Walternate is.

He wasn't even nominated in the recent Emmys. I just couldn't believe it.

I loved the look Olivia shoots Walternate at the very end of the ep, as he turns away from her exiting the tank. Looks like the 'real' Olivia is finally back in the saddle after all the drugs & conditioning.

There was an episode last week; before that, it was pre-empted twice for baseball.

Okay good so only one. That is the only thing I hate about Fringe, for such a big show they stop and start it for everything it seems. Lets show 5 episodes and then pause for 2 mths for American Idol.....or Baseball!

Great episode, though, in the Altverse.

It was about a relative freeing someone quarantined in amber, which is illegal. Guess appearance by Peter as Olivia's conscience.

Agreed. I actually had missed the entire first season due to work and so I bought the dvd and watched it all in several sittings and the show is so much better that way. It really needs to be given the 24 treatment.

It's not the show's fault, it's Fox. I missed the first season, too.

I agree. All the more reason to give it the 24 spring run through. If Fringe ran consistently for the entire spring and had one or two 2 hour airings, it would be perfect. It's not a show that does well broken up. I'd rather have no fringe in the fall and have it all in the spring then have it broken up over weeks and weeks.
