This is the first episode straight after "Jacksonville", following directly on from the ending of Olivia seeing Peter.

Not a bad episode. Loved the '85 inspired intro, getting to see just how Walter took Peter, and also how Nina's arm got to be the way it did (although I predicted the reason seconds after seeing her first shot). Only disappointing in that it too so much of the episode. Would have liked more between Olivia and Walter, or them developing more of the way I think Peter will find out due to Astrid.

This was the best episode of Fringe yet.

From the titles to providing answers, it did not hold back at all.

Great episode. Loved the explanation with Nina, and seeing Walter's assistant. Would have liked to know what happened with her. But I guess that's an answer for another episode.

Best line was Walter's comments about how William was too busy chasing benefactors than to stop him from destroying the world.

One thing though that stuck out for me: Why did Nina say she was so fond of Peter? Something odd in the way she said that.[face_thinking]

I watched it, which I haven't done since the first three episodes.

Had a treat: The movie theatre advertising "Back to the Future" (starring Eric Stoltz) Hee! Also: I even recognized the movie theatre: it's the Park on Oak Street in Vancouver. Gave me quite a turn. Didn't know they were filming locally.

Walter is ye fascinating character. I'm not sure I buy that he only wanted to save Peter's life, or that it was his wife's idea to keep him. He intended to take & keep him from the first, no matter what he says.

Yes, that was a great treat with the "Back to the Future" marque saying starring Eric Stolz. Can you imagine actually the movie with him in it instead? Great treat for sci-fi fans. I have just now gotten into this show, and it's very good so far. I'm going to be buying the first season on DVD.

    From the 'Ask Ausiello' blog:

Question: Last week?s Fringe was epic! Any scoop on when we will be seeing Peter?s mom again? I had never seen the actress who played her before. She?s friggin? fantastic. ?Rachel

Ausiello: Her name?s Orla Brady, she was friggin? fantastic, and I can confirm exclusively that she?s returning for the two-part finale, titled ?Over There, Part 1? and ?Over There, Part 2,? airing May 13 and May 20 respectively.

Not a bad episode; I particularly liked Nina's call out of Olivia. Tough.

I like the cast of this show a lot, want to like the show itself more. Agree, last night wasn't bad.

    From EW:

"On April 29, Fox?s just-renewed Fringe will take a page from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Scrubs by staging a musical inside inside the mind of mad scientist Walter.

?We didn?t set out to do a musical,? maintains executive producer Jeff Pinkner. ?We set out to do an episode that explored Walter?s state of mind ? he?s dealing with some very upsetting news. When we realized that the way Walter would deal with such news would be to try to anesthetize himself with copious amounts of marijuana, well, singing and dancing became a natural outcome.?

Anna Torv?s Olivia ? who adopts a retro private-eye persona (see above) ? plays a central role in Walter?s drug-induced fairy tale. Teases Pinkner: ?It?ll be interesting to see how Walter really perceives her.?

What she said to Oliva to make her not tell Peter.

Speaking of Oliva if any of you watch The Pacific then on part 5 she had a small role and she gets nailed in it by one of the marines. Good stuff lol.

Can I just say that the "Peter" episode broke my heart. Powerful stuff and that chick who played Peter's mom...wow, was she ever good.

I'm not sure how Walter tells Peter about this.

I mean, "Oh, Peter? Guess what? When you were little I abducted you from the other universe?"

Much superior episode to the Monster of the Week. Great to see Peter Weller, and the ending was very...good.

Loved the way Peter determined that Walter was upset: "I bought him some Peek Freems and he hasn't even opened the box!"

Yeah Peter and Walter getting close is great and also sad at the same time because more then likly that will come to a halt for several episodes when he finds out.....

Also hell yes to Peter Weller being on the show! Robocop came through at the end and kept his word about the field and the time reset so all those people aboard the train would live. Very moving.

Anyone else think that the man on the bridge and the "secretary" is Walternate?

Yeah, I've thought since last year's finale that he is going to be behind everything that's going on.

I have to say though, I thought the way Peter figured everything out was pretty lame. I would have much rather seen him sucked into the alternate universe or have Walternate confront him and reveal his true identity that way.. After a year of buildup, it was kind of disappointing to have it done this way.
