Someone on another site noted that neither Walternate nor AltLiz was wearing a wedding ring.

If I'm not mistaken, Walternate had a wedding ring on in Part 2.

Speaking of Part 2... wow. I cannot absolutely wait until the new season. Sure, I called the switcheroo as soon as it happened, but I still really enjoyed the episode! And I definitely wasn't expecting Peter and Olivia to kiss! In terms of TV couples acting on their feelings, those two are moving at lightspeed.

I liked it. Not as good as the "Peter" episode, but still a good way to end the season. I'm not sure I understand why they needed Peter specifically to power this machine and destroy the other universe though... I guess I'll have to watch it again.

I'm thinking that Walternate had always planned to use Peter for that device, even before Walter took him. That would explain why the Observers cared so much about Peter staying in our universe.

    A bit of a let-down, I thought.

I think the build up spoiled it. The whole "a character will die" thing was also pretty obvious given Nemoy's retirement and yes the switch was extremely predicatable. I'm betting Walter figures it out first. Still, I loved it and love that this storyline may be far from over. As always, Fringe seems to leave you with more questions even when finally answering the old ones. Can't wait for the fall.

    Just a little bit. ;)

How long do you think it'll take for Peter to realize they brought back the wrong Olivia?

Their first kiss. :p I thought they needed Olivia to reopen the way through to the other side? Or was that unnecessary because they passed through in the opera house and the rift still existed?

He won't. I'm betting Walter or Ella will figure it out.

yeah the switcheroo bummed me out too, but i knew that it would happen. and as for the Peter and Olivia to kiss! In terms of TV couples acting on their feelings, those two are moving at lightspeed. well i think that it was a last ditch attempt to convince peter to come back to real earth, when all else fails, use your feminine wiles.

i am waiting for the next season with baited breath, hopefully we will get to see more of alternate earth.

I thought that, too! I thought that maybe Infiltrivia (sorry, I like that name for alt!Olivia) :p had been treated with Cortextiphan without realizing it, but since Walternate and Bell haven't worked together in this universe, that's probably not likely. Perhaps it has something to do with Bell powering the machine himself?

The way I got it was that they had opened the "door" when the arrived and they needed the doorstop to keep it "open" and Bell used himself to keep that door "wedged open".

Did anyone else think this was a homage to Star Trek 2 in which Spock does something similar?

I sort of enjoyed the encounter between Bell and Walter; they kvetched at each other.

No encounter between Walter and Walternate, however.

I'm sure that showdown will happen soon. We've got to get Olivia back somehow, right? :p

Who Should Play Olivia's Mom on Fringe?
Posted on June 16th, 2010 2:01 PM by M.L. House

Warning: major Fringe spoiler and casting scoop ahead!

"Insiders have confirmed to TV Guide Magazine that Fringe will feature Olivia's mother in a multi-episode arc next season. No actress has been cast in the role yet, but network sources describe the character as "loving, stable and sweet."

Because one daughter died during birth, Olivia's mom pays special attention to the child that is still alive.

William Keck, who broke this story, recommends former Bionic Woman Lindsay Wagner for the role. Not a bad choice. We could envision it going to Sharon Stone... or what about Jamie Lee Curtis?"

    JLC is my choice.

Can't believe John Noble didn't get an Emmy nomination.

I really liked the Season 3 premiere. It echoed back to ALIAS Season 3. Here's my take--just like Sydney was not really Julia Thorne, only pretending to be Julia for the benefit of her captors, so too is Olivia playing along with her new identity. Olivia is smart enough to realize that she will never be able to get back to the other side without manipulating the alt-Fringe division. She's totally playing them and I imagine that Bell/Walter's cortexaphan treatments prepared her to resist this kind of tampering with her identity.
