What I'm thinking is that changes will happen to the galaxy as you go through the story of each episode, but then will reset to an acceptable point where all collectables can be got at the end once Freeplay is unlocked. So the Death Star returns to the Alderaan system in Episode IV, a Trade Federation Battleship returns to Naboo in Episode I, and things like that.

    That certainly seems plausible.
Especially since in the absence of droids Episode I would have no antagonists at all after the plot is done.

Most of all I'm looking forward to seeing Coruscant: the Jedi Temple, senate, underworld, etc. It likely won't be to scale, but hopefully its more detailed than the short level we had in it during the original Star Wars lego games. At least with most of the key movie locations, and room to explore in between.[face_thinking]

I wonder how the voice acting is gonna work. Are they keeping some of the film lines the same and mixing it with original VA?

Yes, lego, just like the Venator Star Destroyer from The Clone Wars.

I think mixing and matching might be a bit jarring. Unless we are talking one note characters like Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba. I expect most characters will likely have original voice lines recorded for this game, just for practical purposes so the acting is consistent between scene's.

You think they will get the voice actors from Battlefront 2?

I think that might be possible, depending on how accessible they are. I can't help but notice even Battlefront 2 did basically nothing with the voice work of the characters that were originally released in later updates. So we kind of have an invisible wall that separates the "new" characters like Anakin, Obi-Wan, Dooku, and Grievous from the old characters like Rey, Luke, Kylo Ren and Vader. The new characters acknowledge the existence of the old characters but the old ones don't recognize the new ones. Maybe they just didn't bother taking the time to reach out to the original voice actors, but I also get the feeling some of said voice actors did not want to come back, or if they did it would have cost more than it was worth.

How that relates to this new game I'm not sure. Some voice actors I doubt will be available, while others will likely be more willing to return to their roles. It might be easiest for them to convince the Clone Wars voice actors to return since it's clear they very much enjoy doing their parts. In the end as long as they sound somewhat convincing I think it will be an enjoyable experience all around. Hard to say as it is just speculation at this point.

    Alright maybe I misunderstood what he was trying to say.8-}

In any case, another possibility I've thought of is that since this is the Skywalker Saga, maybe the levels in this one will be a bit more Skywalker focused. Granted the OT doesn't really have this issue since Leia is a secret Skywalker the whole time, but in the original Complete Saga game the PT definitely felt more like Obi-Wans game. Maybe there's only so much they can do since Anakin spends most of the trilogy out of action, but maybe we can get a level concerning the Duel in the Chancellors office, and Operation Knightfall so we can actually see the saga more from Anakins point of view than before. :anakin:

One of the things I've been thinking of recently is the start of each film and how the game will play them out. We already know from the E3 previews that The Phantom Menace will see a decent chunk of the start of the film played out in freeroam, so how would that play out for the rest of them? Attack of the Clones starts with Padmé's arrival on Coruscant, then once the royal cruiser gets blown up, its back in the N-1's to travel to the Senate Plaza as you get chased by Zam. The speeder chase after the next assassination attempt plays out in freeroam, with the first true level being within the club. For Revenge of the Sith, the Battle of Coruscant plays out mostly in freeroam, with the two battles on board the Invisible Hand being the first true level.

A New Hope sees the attack on the Tantive IV play out in freeroam, with R2 and 3PO heading down to Tatooine in the escape pod. The first true level would see Luke and 3PO in the speeder chasing after R2 and being diverted by Tusken traps. For The Empire Strikes Back, you would pilot the Millennium Falcon down to the surface of Hoth, where Han and Luke head out to set up the beacons. After the Wampa attack, Luke and Han would need to meet up at a particular spot from the ends of the map, which would then begin the first true level where speeder pilots locate the two. Return of the Jedi would again see the Falcon being piloted, this time down to the surface of Tatooine, where R2 and 3PO head to Jabba's Palace to start off the setup for Han's rescue. The first true level would play out once Luke defeats the the Rancor and he and Han get sentenced to death by Sarlacc.

For The Force Awakens, Poe would pilot his X-Wing down to the Jakku village where Lor San Tekka lives, with the attack that follows playing out in freeroam. The escape from the Star Destroyer would also be in freeroam, as would Rey meeting with BB-8. The first true level would be the attack Niima Outpost and the flight of the Falcon. The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker I'm less clear on how they would go, but for the former, I would say the beginning attack of the Resistance fleet would be in freeroam, though I have no idea of when I'd have the first true level. The latter I can barely remember, but I would skip (heh) the lightspeed skipping segment to put the focus on Rey instead.

Does anyone play Lego Clone Wars? My kid and I have been playing it for a while and completed all the story missions but now we're stuck. We don't have any dark side characters or bounty hunters and can't figure out where to get them. Any help would be appreciated.

Dark side characters are within the CIS cruiser, so you'll need to go down to the hangar and into space, then over to the right where you'll be able to dock with that CIS cruiser. Bounty Hunter characters will be over there as well, along with the Bounty Hunter missions.

Thanks! The day after I posted that we figured it out. Now we're enjoying the dark side characters & finally getting 10 mini-kits on free play.

Looking forward to the Skywalker Saga

Ah, well, always happy to help. Glad to see you're enjoying it.

I do wish we could get some Skywalker Saga news. I feel like summer means Celebration, however, and if they aren't bringing the news to us earlier owing to its cancelation, we'll still be waiting until August.

If we're talking of purely games, it'll be Gamespot / IGN that have the vids over the next 2 months I reckon.

I'm not quite sure what news there is to have at this point. We know what date it's coming out and that's good enough for me.

Well, we kinda need to see it for ourselves to know how much of an evolution it is over previous LEGO games, along with getting an idea of how much the levels have changed thanks to this evolution. Other than that, however, I don't think there's much else we really need.
