Full frontal male nudity

I just finished watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall and in it the main character shows his weiner like 2 or 3 times and it just made me realize that you never see penisi in many movies, whereas breasts are a common occurance in most R rated movies, why is that? And which other movies do you see this phenomena?

Generally, while the female anatomy is oftentimes appealing, male anatomy is found to be offensive (which is why it usually appears only in "comedies").

to be cynical/borderline sexist; most movies are made by men, and more movies are made for men than women. What do men enjoy? More boob, less sausage.

Besides a nice pair of breasts are great to see, and many women agree. Even an "attractive" penis is still gross, and many women agree.

Lastly, you are comparing apples and oranges - there's plenty of topless men in movies (TopGun volleyball sequence?!?), and similarly there isn't as much lady-gardens shown in movies.

I read an interview with several anonymous people in the film industry, years ago in Premiere magazine. When asked why there wasn't more male nudity in film, the answer was simply that straight male filmmakers (particularly in the US) don't want to see pen0r.

It happens in 28 Days Later (I think it's Cillian Murphy who's naked) and the German film Antibodies (Antikoerper). I can't remember if there's any in Starship Troopers, I know there's a shower scene but I can't remember if you see any male genitalia. I've probably seen it in other films but I can't think of others as I don't really take much notice of it.

No. Starship Troopers used strategically placed faucets and shower handles to cover up the forward pelvic regions.

 

A lot of foreign films you see more male nudity (Y Tu Mama Tambien, some Cuban films, etc etc).

Minus Ewan films, it's pretty rare over in the US, depending on the genre.

Films like Schindler's List shows everything, but you can't compare that to movie that show it for comedy purposes or whatnot.
