That's not an issue...I've got a cable modem.

I'm mainly just wondering about operating system, processing speed, memory, etc.

    I'm going to be a Zabrack. :D

Not sure on how I'm going to get the game, tho. I still don't have my own computer and I can't be hogging my dad's machine: younger siblings always have homework.

Are you sure it's still coming to XB and PS2? I haven't seen any of those logos on the ads in ages.

Wow, my computer can actually handle the game. I'd probably be thrilled if I still had any interest in it.

I'm glad I got that upgrade at Christmas. My old computer wouldn't be able to handle the game, but my new one should run it great.

No, that would suck. So I highly doubt you can just hop into other peoples' landspeeders and take off. That would be beyond stupid. Besides, didn't they say you can't ride vehicles in the initial release? I can't even remember any more because I frankly don't care too much about SWG at this point.

Out of curiosity, Dan, what made you become disenfranchised with Galaxies? It sounds like you were once excited by that post.

    > what made you become disenfranchised with Galaxies?

Probably that it will be populated by people who think it would be cool to steal your landspeeder. :p

I think people would be wise to let the game run for 6-12 months before joining, and listen to the reports of the players. But I know that'll never happen...

If I ever buy it, it won't be until after the Space Expansion comes out.

low blow my freind, low blow i was just wonderin but a funny one none the less
umm just as a nervous SWG fan but in combat od you just stand there with any weapon right i front of your target shooting mechanically . OR... do you acctually get to move around the target in first person or third person moode and actually shoot with your own weapons?

Seeing the gameplay video just turned me off. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but it just looked so boring. I'm probably in the minority though. If I ever get the game, it will be after a few months and all the reports come out.

"but it just looked so boring"

It will be boring at times. But go with an overt faction (I'm currently Imperial) and it will get better. We have gunfights every night in Bestine.

My computer doesnt match the specs and I'm too cheap to upgrade :( :p I thought 850 Mhz would have been enough, oh well.

THE_MISSING_TRIPLET I'm not sure sure that you are right about SWG is coming out on console XBox and PS2. The logos are not on the lucas site and that article you linked to us dated back to 2002. Are you sure, or is the console versions cancelled?

It would be nice to have SWG on console since there will be a fee for playing this game online.

I have a feeling that it's canceled. Not only are the icons gone from the webpage, but they aren't in the E3 trailer. That seems like a bit too much to just be a coincidence.

Hey, does anyone rememeber that massive online game they were going to make at one time?

I think it was called Star Wars Galaxies. They set a release date and everything. Man, those guys are such pranksters!
