Disenchantment part 3 or season 3 whatever you want to call it coming January 2021!

 

What you are talking about here is actually what they are changing to be classified as reactivity rather than a side effect. You feel sick for a day or two because your immune system is reacting- which is what you want; this shows the vaccine is working. This happens with all vaccines; I've had it happen with the flu shot before. People who had this happen with Covid said the second shot wasn't nearly as bad as the first, so it obviously wouldn't be smart to not get the second one.

Fortunately for me, California has determined that mental health providers in the prison system will be among the first to get the vaccine, and I will likely get it within a month.

Anyone else getting this vaccine soon? Curious what the experience of others will be, since all my coworker will get the same vaccine, and others in other places will get different ones.

 

I'll get mine as soon as the state is done passing it out to local acute care hospitals and nursing homes, and I am looking forward to it.,. With all of the misery around Covid, it will be nice to know I don't much have to worry about getting it anymore. There won't be that stress; even if everyone will still have to carry the precautions on for a while.

I'll feel safe going to a movie theater once I get my 2 injections and they have time to immunoconvert.

 

I got the Flu and pneumonia in 2014 that led to Lithium poisoning that led to Kidney failure. I almost died if my parents waited just 2 days I would have lapsed into a coma and died. I spent 5 days in a hospital but made a full recovery. I never got a Flu shot before 2014 ever since 2014 i get a flu shot every year and haven't gotten the Flu since. I did get pneumonia really bad in summer 2019 almost went to the hospital but instead the doctor injected steroids medicine and i got steroids and medicine from the pharmacy and an inhaler it took 3 months to get better. So yeah When the vaccine is available I am getting it! I am Diabetic I may be eligible to get it when my parents who are in there 60s get there's!

Today was the day, I got the Moderna vaccine today. I fell normal so far, no side effects. 28 days and get my second shot; and then shortly thereafter, I can start getting my life back!

I'm going to have to look at the movie calendar for March when my immunity will start. Theaters will still be closed where I am at though, my have to travel a bit to see a movie.

 

Well, I'm going to sacrifice a double post for a good cause:

It's the next morning and I feel totally normal. Only 2 in a big group of my coworkers that got the vaccine last week had any side effects (and only for a day or two, and the effects were much more mild than getting Covid, guaranteed). Allergic reactions are a little higher with the Pfizer vaccine than the Moderna I got, but all are within normal limits for a vaccine, and 80% were people with a history of allergic reactions.

Be safe and get your vaccine when you can! Don't believe the conspiracy theorists!

 

I have a lot of allergic reactions so I’m skeptical about the vaccine for that reason.

 

There is no evidence that this vaccine is any more likely to precipitate allergic reactions than other vaccines. Further, if you get the vaccine in a competently controlled setting, where you are monitored for allergic reactions for the appropriate amount of time, with quick access to the administration of antihistamines or the appropriate steroids, you should be totally fine even if there’s a reaction. And of course the risks are far, far lower than getting COVID-19. Do not listen to the anti-vax messages being promulgated out there. It’s nonsense scare tactics with little basis in science. Get the vaccine and avoid getting COVID-19. Modern medicine can quickly deal with allergies, if they arise. I know, as I’ve had the same issues in the past.

 

If these reactions were to vaccines, I believe that is more significant. I would have medical experts evaluate your risk; like a more specific breakdown of risk in your individual situation. Per what @Bor Mullet is saying, that would include an evaluation and comparison of your Covid risk factors. It could turn out that your allergic tendencies make it too risky to take the vaccine, but that would be arrived at hopefully through an informed decision based on science and expertise rather than conspiracies or personal hunches.

Covid will pass WW2 (total US deaths in it) this month as the third biggest death event in US history; it's behind only the Civil War and the last pandemic, which it could end up passing if we don't get these vaccines out in a timely way. Even more concerning for younger people, Covid is damaging body systems, especially the lungs but others of an astonishing portion of people who had it and got better. All of this must factor into any vaccine decision, making the vaccine the right way in the overwhelming majority of cases.

 

I’m really, really worried about the effect of anti-vaxxer misinformation this time around. It seems to have permeated well beyond where it was a few years ago.

 

It is concerning, and is coming from the same stock as all of the other mayhem in the news right now. However, I have grown more optimistic that we will get enough people to take the vaccine to reach normalcy by summer. The percentage of people willing to take it has continuously grown, and I think many of those who are suspicious will be less so after many millions have been vaccinated. I don't think the antivaxxers will be able to get enough traction to throttle it.

 

i dont know when i can get my vaccine shot i am hearing on CNN and MSNBC that pharmicies will start getting it soon! i got a letter from my doctor stating that because i am overweight and diabetic i can get it early they will send me an email when i can get it! but i still would go to a movie theater, mask up and hardly anyone is at the theater as is not much risk especially if you mask up! I just saw Wonder Woman 84 in an AMC IN Sarasota Florida at the begining of January! it was limited seating and you get to pick your seat! I loved the movie so did my dad and nephew! before my Regal closed I saw New Mutants and Empire Strikes Back it was my first time seeing Empire in a theater!

But I don't think fandom that involves racism or any kind of hate weather it's race gender or religion has any place on these forums. Great news- the Disney banner dropped a pro fighter that is a total tool and needed firing, but has now hired one that is awesome. GSP is reprising his role as Batroc the Leaper from the Winter Soldier movie to the same upcoming TV show. I know this isn't a place packed with fight fans who are familiar with GSP, but he is not only the most skilled martial artist in the world (for real I mean not on the movies, surveys and polls of fight fans and experts usually agree), he is an amazingly good guy. I met him, and he was the most amazing celebrity you could ever meet- a truly humble and gracious guy. Unlike another fighter we won't mention, he will be an excellent role model, a great representative of the brand. I would love to see him in a SW show or movie.

my advice get the shot you don't want to get this virus end up in the hospital or worse. I am friends with this Woman who lives in Scotland she is a Scientist/Doctor working on Oncology to cure cancer. she got the Shot the Pfizer and she had no allergic reactions and usually she gets allergic reactions from vaccines. better to be safe then sorry you don't want to mess around with a deadly virus. i got my first Moderna second one on May 4th!
