I will be there as Death Star Escape Han, improved from last year. Still no Stormy blaster done yet though. It was after last years Parrade that I started. Still in parts mode. My buddies HothGirl and TD-027 will be coming. Hothgirl as what ever new version of leia she can get done or other cool femal charrector she has. There was talk of Boushh but Helemet has not been sent to her yet. And the new guy TD-027 is our resident Sandtrooper and a pretty enthusiastic one. Always up for Trooping and SW fun. So just us 3 in the parrade and a couple that will be watching but not particiapting (Doc_Bev, and Knightshade)as they have to rush off to a Convention up there.

 

ok, we have costumes How many helpers do we have. I am one.


And I need a place to stay. I am sorry to drop the ball. But a place for friday night will be nice.


Oh and I can cook so dont worry I will make breakfast if need be.


And what a bout food. How is that going. Do we need some food as well.

 

not sure now if I can attend this or not. I have to work at 6 pm. What time do u think we will be done marching? Last year I thought it was around 2 ish?

 

First... why can't there be two Garindan's?... after all... there is more then one individual of that Race... and if the general population noticed... damn... lots of Star Wars fanatics out there... but even better then that... there are two sides of the street... maybe one side would get jealous of the side that has Garindan! and upset they don't get to meet Garindan!!!

And more importantly!!! why isn't ALL the important information IN ONE PLACE about the gathering of everyone??... Where people can gather... Times... cost... I hate having to DIG through so MANY threads and posts...

So what is going on for lunch? Chris has ordered the beef on a bun...but what about salads, desserts, drinks, plates, napkins, cups, bottled water for the parade etc? There is a lot yet to organize.

The donation for the lunch was set at $10.00 apiece I believe. Can we get confirmation on this?

 

Since I am a helper I will bring whatever you need. I can cook too. And not just mac and cheese. But The only problem is I need a place to stay for the night. If anyone can that would be greatly appreciated.



The weather will be 20 degrees highs and 12 degrees low. Variable cloudiness.

In other words nice weather for marching.

And for you Americans if i do the math right thats around 68 degrees farenheit highs and 56 degrees low.

 

Justin's place is available to house a few people. He already has my mom and her three or four children staying here, so beware of the kiddies. Also, note that he is aware of my volunteering his place. When we see who all is staying there we can figure out what to do about the rest of the meals.

As for Saturday's lunch, do we need to bring anything aside from the $10.00?

Also, what time are we meeting?

 

On a side note, does any one have an extra jedi cloak that I could wear for the parade?

 

I was speaking to Debby about the food last night as I was not involved in the parade last year. Chris has the beef-on-a-bun ordered for 45, but this will not be enough by itself. Last year apparently, ppl brought side dishes, salads, desserts and drinks. This needs to be organized. People need time to plan.

John, you are in charge....what is going on? Please post something like you said you would 2 days ago.

I'll put my name down for a giant batch of Rice Krispie Squares (you can't burn those! ) and 50 juice boxes unless I hear otherwise.

Yes sorry, I've been much busier than I ever expected. A lot of stuff going on.

As Laurie indicated Chris & Debby are going to be providing the main course as it were.

There has been a request that every YJN member please bring something else to the event. We are the hosts.

It doesn't have to be very big. Some of our guests are vegetarians so a non-meat thing is good. Can somebody provide a salad or two? We can also use desert-like items. Cans of pop, potato chips, etc.

So even if you can't cook, or don't have a lot of money something like a case of pop for $7 should be do-able.

For this we will need everyone to post ASAP what they can bring.

As far as the list of who is coming. I have that. Not everyone has told me what costumes, and frankly I don't think it matters. With 40-50 people we are very likely going to have doubles and there is not much we can do about it. I'm not about to tell anyone they can't wear a costume they want because somebody else has the same or similar. If we have dupes we'll arrange it in the parade route so both sides of the parade will get a good view of the person.

I'll be PMing the directions the school and the times to the various contact people tonight.

If there is somebody who needs directions and I forget to send them a message please PM me direct.

Crazy Mike has kindly reinstated the "Unlimited Edit Time" so that I can post a consolidated list for the Grape and Wine Parade. This list can now be updated frequently so that everyone can see who is planning to attend, what costume they are wearing, and what food they plan to bring. We have always in the past listed participants and their costumes...not so much to prevent duplicates...but just out of interest to others.

Some important points:

-Parade starts at 11:00am, but you should be at the school earlier (9-9:30) to get organized and into line by 10:30.

-The address for Memorial School is 17 Welland Ave., between Lake St. and Ontario St. (See Map)

-Memorial School will be open at 9:00am for people to assemble, change and stash their gear. If you are bringing food that must be kept cold, please bring a cooler, as there is no refrigeration available to us.

-The school will be locked during the parade and re-opened afterwards. We will assemble back there to change, visit, and have lunch (lunch will be sometime after 3:30pm).

-The cost is $10.00 per person. This is mainly to cover the cost of the school rental, as well as the Beef-On-A-Bun (one per person) for lunch. This is why we are asking for donations of snacks, salads, desserts and drinks. Any leftover monies will be donated to Women's Place Niagara.

Not exactly sure what I'm doing yet...I'd planned on Boushh but my helmet isn't in the mail yet. D'oh!
Sucks to have everything else ready to go but I'm without my helmet. Go figure...oh well, if the helmet looks like my armor, it'll be worth waiting for.
