lol, I'm pretty sure that was dubbed (part of why we didn't see his face)

Pretty sure it was actually the same actor playing him too, with a different wig and without the beard - looked like Coltrane's profile in the shadows.

By the way, I forgot to mention, Tom Riddle was awesome in this movie. There was something very Johnny Depp-ish about him, especially in the black and white flashback sequence - reminded me of Depp in Ed Wood.

I didn't like how they had the shadow over his face... it was probably necisarry, but I still didn't like it [face_plain]

I do like the humor in this one more than the last one. It makes up for the fact I didn't like the second book as much as the others :)

nope, I'm pretty sure there was a different credit for the young Hagrid, but I'm almost 100% positive it was coltrane dubbed over him.

Okay, I'm off to see HP again to solve this young Hagrid mystery once and for all (I suspect I'm wrong, as usual).

    "Constant Vigilance!!!"

lol @ madeye :p (it was madeye that said constant vigilance, right?)

enjoy #2...I'll be viewing #3 this weekend I think :D It depends though, I might not. I'll be seeing it at least once when I go home, possibly twice.

Yep, that was good old Moody's quote. :)

And in the immortal words of the dying Anakin Skywalker:

"You were right...tell your sister...you were right."

Which means I was totally wrong about Coltrane also playing the shadowy young Hagrid. Doh!

By the way, Dobby vs. Yoda in a fight, who would win? They're both tossing around the lightning bolts pretty good.

    Hey All!

I just saw this movie...it was very good. 2hrs and 41 mins went by in moments for me. Great film. Sadly one of my favorite characters passed away.....Richard Harris will be missed. Great actor.

Jason (darth jar) is correct...he will be missed.

other Jason: I was actualy just talking with a friend of mine about how Dobby reminded me of Yoda in the scene where he gets all pissed and defends Harry from Lucius Malfoy. :D

Sorry to say though, Yoda would whup Dobby's arse without effort ;)

LOL, yeah I suppose Yoda would win. It would be an interesting fight to watch though.

"To the house kitchens, back you go, elf!"

    "Bad Dobby! Bad Dobby!"

To be honest I didn't like that scene with Dobby vs. Lucious. Unless my memory is faltering badly, that "fight scene" wasn't in the book. The fact that a little house elf can take out Voldemort's right-hand man is a bit of a stretch.

Maybe the final battle in Book 7 will be Dobby and Winky vs. Voldemort and the Death Eaters. ;)

I don't think the fight scene happened, but I did get the idea from the books that house elves are very powerful, they just don't use it for anything but serving their masters and whatnot.

Well this is sort of this topic. Last year when I was working on my jabba I found an email for one of the guys that made the big guy. Well as I emailed back and forth with him he said he was working on HP2 and so.... After I saw HP I thought to thank the one guy I personally could. I thought you guys and gals may like to read the responces.

Subject: Harry Potter the chamber of secrets

    Hello John,

This week end I went and saw Harry Potter the chamber of secrets. I am only guessing at witch creatures were yours but in either case I wanted to personally thank you again for your amazing work. I realize you may not hear from people that often and I wanted to let you know I think I enjoyed the film more because I knew you had worked on it. Please let me know which creatures were yours. My guess is the big spider, the basilisk and the Phoenix.

Thank you for your time and have a great day

Steven Gibson (the fan made Jabba)

    Hi Steven,

Thanks for your message and kind words ! I'm glad you liked the film.

I worked mostly on spiders for the chase scene, and was also involved with the Basilisk; making the armature and assisting with the sculpt. There were five people on that one as it was so big, and we had to do it fairly quickly.

    All the Best,
    John

I'm sure Lucious could have whooped up on Dobby. He just wasn't prepared for an attack, and a head-to-head battle would have caused to much commotion. Then it would be Dobby and Dumbley against Malfoy.

Nah, I'm pretty sure Dobby would have put the smackdown on Lucius.

In any case, if Dumbledore got involved, Malfoy wouldn't have a chance. Dumbledore would mop the floor with Lucius and have his tea and crumpets while he did it.

well isaw the movie finally. although it was pretty odd to se it selling out a week after it came out.

i thought it was good. the quidditch match with the bludger was cool. oliver got his broom messed up pretty bad.

and did anyone else notice how faux and vergere are alike? my two brothers (who are not really into the NJO) both said it at the same time. i kind of saw it but not that much. maybe its just me.
