At the start of Disney Star Wars they shyed away from the prequel era but now it seems like the prequels on a comeback with more merchandising, books (Part of the new Thrawn novel is set in the prequel era with Anakin having a key role) and 2 video games (Battlefront II Clone Wars dlc and the new Fallen Order game) set in the era. Anakin's chances of appearing in IX seem more likely now. Also after TLJ they need to please the fans and Anakin appearing would be one way of doing that.

Funko and Smuggler's Bounty finally released an Ep III Anakin plus the SDCC Clone Wars Anakin, Hot Toys finally gave us TWO Ep III Anakins, and this alternate Thrawn cover has me ready to read a Thrawn novel for the first time in my life. I want it bad, but I still am not ready to get my hopes up for Anakin fg for tying everything together. I am afraid they'll do something crazy like use old HC fg footage and stick Matt Lanter's voice over it. Not entirely sure I want to give them my trust for bringing HC back.

    That's an outdated view tbh.

either way Star Wars is a franchise that's always gonna have things fans hate, but doesn't mean you hide them. Aka people's opinions on Rose won't effect her role in the next film.

I don't think it's an outdated opinion but anyway....true, SW will always have things that fans hate. I just think that i highly doubt that JJ would want to see Anakin ghost as Christensen, he won't say it out loud, but he's from a generation that was disppointed in the casting of Anakin. And he acts and talks like someone who shares these views, not specifically on that subject but you can tell it from miles, han shoots first, yub nub and sebastian shaw....

Yeah but people would say the same thing about JJ and the prequels in general. infact why JJ got Ewan to come back for a brief obi wan voice over if he is part of that generation who was so disappointed and a little bias with those movies I have no idea.

In the long run if he wants to connect dots to all films then he can't play bias towards stuff like that. Just like if he didn't agree with something in TLJ he for the most part has to deal with it now. Chances are Star Wars in general is out of its comfort zone now.

A scene where FG Anakin, Leia and Ben hash out their differences, Leia starts training with the Force and Ben has a son named Anakin would be amazing but a lot of things have to happen first.

As a Canadian who met his wife in little Italy in Toronto I suspect my wife and I will watch this rom com. Cheesy as it may seem just due to the two leads and the fact that it’s modeled after Toronto. Hayden still looks great. It’s about time he got to play the hearthrob in one of these types of movies. Say what you want about the genre but the Director has had some decent hits in the genre at least so in some ways this feels like a decent role for him to remind Hollywood what he’s capable of still.

    Trailer at the link.

It’s a fictionalized take on Little Italy in Toronto because they always fear setting a movie like this outside of the US or Europe won’t appeal to Americans, and it doesn’t seem like they name the city, but the trailer shows Air Canada & Hayden’s wearing a Toronto Blue Jays shirt and it was filmed in Toronto and was written by two Canadians with a bunch of recognizable spots I know.

Seems kinda funny hearing him put on an accent after knowing his real accent but he kinda pulls off how some of the older Italian Canadians sound anyway.

Ha ha ha. Yeah, that was clever. This probably won’t be very good. If it didn’t have the Canadian ties and him and her I’d 100% skip it.

Might be seen by fans of the genre though which is sadly more than we’ve been able to say about most of his stuff for a while.

I did see he did a movie with Bruce Willis on his IMDB but didn’t hear anything about it.

This kind of thing might let him show off some charm at least.

Yes I think Hayden is terrific, he's a working actor but he hasn't had that post SW breakout role. Really hope he's in 9 as a FG.

Well, he kind of retired from making movies for quite a few years even though he still had some offers, so it's not like he was cast aside and thus never found a breakout-role ;)

Personally I feel he's a very underestimated actor, I don't think Tom Cruise or Russell Crowe could've done a better job as Anakin in ROTS. I liked him in Jumper, I thought he was far more likeable in that than Jamie Bell. Since then the criticism has hung heavy on him, some of it ridiculously unfair.

Miss Congeniality and How to Lose a Guy were a couple of great/fun flicks. Hayden looks great in the Little Italy trailer - a fun relaxed role - several of his parts so far had me  or [face_laugh] or [face_love]. I'm looking forward to seeing this film.

He's had several films I enjoyed since SW. I like Takers and First Kill as action flicks that showcased his athleticism.

While the news of Billy Dee Williams coming back is fun, I have to admit that an announcement about Hayden coming back would have me more excited. It has nothing to do with who's a better actor, or even which character I prefer, I just feel Hayden's return would have more significance to the story (and the saga as a whole) than Lando's.

Gotta be honest, Force ghost Anakin returning to decimate the First Order would be satisfying. It would further redeem him... even though it’s not entirely necessary.

You mean Lord Vader is a Canadian? So he’s a North American who has health insurance and doesn’t go around shooting people?

I wish the best for Hayden. Actually, despite AOTC barely being fresh for RT, his performance overall was well received. Yet, Razzies. And then ROTS was the freshest GL SW movie for RT, yet Razzied. He’s in good company. Jack Nicholson twice won the Razzies.

I really hope he’s in IX. Coulda been in VII. He’s gonna hafta talk with his grandkid.

They did connect Kylo Ren to Darth Vader in TFA, with his hero worship and monologue to the mask. So for me that path was already set up back in Episode VII. That sets up a visit from Anakin/Vader to Kylo in a future film.

Another poster's suggestion that he could morph from Vader form to Anakin is a good way it can be done; warning Kylo what happened to his grandfather.

Bring on the Skywalker connections in IX please to tie up and close the three saga trilogies.

But then, do I think Episode X would happen in the future? I'd be very surprised if it wasn't revisited ar some point, perhaps 10 years hence (in our time).
