I vaguely remember watching the pilot but I do think Kat Dennings has some of the best one-liners in her "Thor" flicks (but, to be fair, they give her all the best one-liners in those movies anyway)
There were dozens of old EU characters in the novel, if they made it canon then all these became canon as well. I guess that's what concerns them.
They don't have to make all the referenced material canon, they can just make the Plagueis book itself canon. For example, Coruscant and Aayla Secura were made canon by GL, but he didn't make the sources they came from on the same level as the films or TCW because of that. My point is that canonizing the DP novel would necessarily mean it drags all of the other EU stuff it references with it.
I frankly thought the Plagueis novel was bogged down by EU references; it could be slimmed down to something leaner and meaner.
My wife said that. She enjoyed it more the closer it got to TPM. And then was mildly surprised it was so close and then nearly finished! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't think anything that would re-canonized will have any effect on Disney's future plans for the franchise considering their extreme reluctance to do anything in the Prequel Era.
That reluctance must not be all that extreme, considering the existence of the Kanan comic, which has its first arc set during Order 66 and its second set to take place even earlier in the Clone Wars.
I feel that way about Big Bang Theory and especially Jim Parsons. Nothing against him, but I dispise the character from the few episodes I have seen in the breakroom at work, and don't understand how he kept winning all those awards for acting at the expense of other, better, shows like Community.
I agree with you that it won't have any effect right now, but I have a feeling that has we get two to three years into the NU, Disney/Lucasfilm will start filling in the gaps for the Prequels. Right now, they seem to be more interested in the period between the films in the OT and to a lesser extent the period between the OT and the ST.
The PT looks done by the way Disney is treating it. If you want more TCW stuff, though, go watch Rebels.
Lulz. I know you've said TCW is easy to ignore but Spoiler when elements are mentioned in the post-ROTJ era it becomes impossible.
Not really, the Clone Wars are still no more relevant than they were for the OT. It happened, people fought in it, someone lost, the Jedi died, the Empire formed during it.
Lol. Characters such as Tano and Rex are showing up in Rebels. And they happened to be main characters from that show.
Obi-Wan is a main character from the PT and is in the OT. What he actually did in the PT is still really, really irrelevant for his role in the OT.
The problem is TCW is a part of the new canon and the fact those characters are canon kind of doesn't work for some people.
Zeta1127 Yup and I'm one of them. People keep saying it stayed canon because George worked on it, but he did the same for TFU. And that's not canon anymore. Gorefiend Maybe, but dude, I'm talking about "TCW" the show, not the era. They keep talking about "new stories" but TCW characters such as Tano and Rex are showing up in Rebels, which is suppose to be about new people.
I am the last person that will claim to like TCW but it is just so incredible irrelevant to the big picture that I just can’t get mad at it for that. And that makes a difference in what way? Yes, the very people that are the main characters of the show. Or are you also getting mad because Bail is a side character in TCW, Rebels and PT? Because funny enough his hidden background is actually more relevant to the show, than Rex or Ashoka will be beyond what they actually do in the show itself.
Gorefiend Because, imo, their shoving TCW down my throat. D No. Rebels is suppose to be about new people and not TCW characters. If you look at the advertising for the show; it's all about Tano's showdown with Vader. That seems to be the main focus.
For Ardos sake then don’t watch it if you have a really unfounded problem based merely on other characters showing up in it. We must have been watching utterly different adverts for this show. Care to share a Vader vs Ashoka clip, because I would love to actually see it.
