If it were true, it'd be an ironic complaint, but there's no way the flow of the game was anywhere near as boring as a Devils game in seasons past, so it's merely an inaccurate one. :p

Nope, the Devil's player's stick pretty clearly hits Shanahan in the head, as it also flung Shanahan's stick out of his hands in the process. But even if that wasn't actually the case, it's still a high stick ;)

What a great game the Flyers had last night. An 8-2 trouncing of the Pens and a bunch of fights. :D

Rangers had a pretty good game against the Caps last night- game was neck and neck and went to OT. Unfortunately, though the Rangers had the advantage for the extra period, the ice condition that had people falling a lot during the game struck Shanahan, who fell down leading to a turnover that led to the winning goal, alas. Funny, though [face_laugh]

Devils best the Bruins 3-1 with Captain Lagenbrunner getting 2 goals in the game. :) Brian Gionta had the other goal. Pretty decent effort by the Devs all around although it was a little differnt seeing Oduya back in the line up after being scratched again, but he played better. Clarkson got into a fight but it was barely much, didn't have a clear winner.

I wouldn't be surprised if Marty got the afternoon off at home against Pheonix on Sat. WOuld be better to let him start against Philly.

Habs win over the Leafs 4-1. :)

Watched the game until the end of second and then fell asleep (Not because it was boring, because I was dead tired). Koivu finally starts scoring (2 goals) and the goaltending of Price is hot as ever. HOT I tells ya!!!

Anyways, it's always good to pound the leafs to a bloody pulp especially in Montreal at the electrifying Bell Center.

Devils got royally screwed over yesterday on all the penalties against the Cyotes and lost 4-1. It was complete BS that they had to spend most of the 2nd and 3rd shorthanded. Oh well, got to move on from that loss and on to tonights game against Philly, which is a big game.

I'm going to the Prudential Center for my first home game this season. I'm excited and I hope the Devils come out flying. :) Can't wait!!

Why are you so negative, DarkPrince? Think of the penalties as getting extra shorthanded practice so that they will be prepared against the Flyers. ;)

Well only one of those Coyotes goals was on the PP, so dare I say the Devils would most likely have lost even without being "screwed on all the penalties", as you so adequetely put it.

Well, they certainly were prepared today and gave the Flyers nothing to work with, with the exception of those 2 PP goals they gave up. Devils beat Flyers 4-2 today with Madden getting two goals, one SH and one on the PP. Glad to have gone to this one, great game overall from everyone; Madden was on fire as well as Mottau having a great game. Marty was awesome as always. Asham finally netted one and Langs got the empty netter. Was always happy that the Rags got owned by the Cyotes as well. :)

Loved the arena, can't believe how easy it was to get there and how huge it was!

And well, you know some bad calls were in that game, but after the 1st period of yesterdays game they just couldn't catch up to the Cyotes.

San Jose had a well needed win over Anaheim yesterday. For the third time this season a Ducks/Sharks game went to the shootout before Thornton finally won it in the sixth round for San Jose. These teams meet two more times this week. Both those games are going to be very intense.

Tough loss to the Coyotes for the Rangers yesterday. Those WWOR games are not good luck for the blueshirts, sheesh. At least it wasn't a shutout ;) Hopefully Henrik will be healthy soon.

Also, it looks like the Isles' Chris Simon will be spending some time away from the game due to his actions on saturday where he used his skate blade to stomp on a player's foot who was down at the bench exit/entrance.

Rangers blanked the Penguins 4-0 last night, playing a really good game once more after some line changeups. They were fierce in the second period going for the 2nd goal, I was really shocked- it brought new meaning to phrase "power play". I don't recall seeing any team ever play like that before. Another first for me was seeing the one mighty slapshot break the Penguin goalie's helmet or facemask.

I also got a good chuckle out of the lineup during a 5-on-3 in the 3rd as Sam was describing it - "Rangers have Gomez, Jagr, Shanahan, Drury and Rosevelt on..." [face_laugh]

An embarrasing loss last night to Vancouver, 5-0. Didn't get anything going in front of Luongo, who saw every single shot that was thrown at him. Traffic wasn't created in front of him and about half those shots hit the glass. Marty was just bad and couldn't make the saves that were needed. Hopefully he gets Fri night off because he certainly needs a break.

I hope Sutter works this team hard in practice, because they need a wake up call.

Good, it should have been a season and a lengthy amount of mandatory anger management.

I think he should serve the suspension *after* completing counseling.

Considering his history, he really should just be thrown out of the game for good.

Though he certainly warrants it now, I imagine one more incident and he'll certainly be gone. Found it amusing how the newspaper article today specified Simon getting "the longest suspension in NHL history again."

Well, the Rangers lost tonight to Marian Gaborik...and I think the Minnesota Wild were there too ;). Gaborik netted an amazing 5 goals in the game, so props to him.
Game was pretty neck and neck, with the turning point being one of the more blatant examples of the awful, awful officialing during the game when Burns landed a rising elbow into Prucha's face, taking him out of the period (or at least most of it, hard to tell in the Ri60 version) and the refs not only failed to give him a penalty, but they gave the Rangers a bench minor penalty instead , an absolutely ridiculous call that led to one of the Wild's goals, to add salt to the wound. And that pretty much gave the Wild the momentum needed to maintain (and eventually increase) their lead, courtesy of Gaborik.

BTW, festive uniforms, those Wild... ;)

A link to the NHL.com article. The article mentions that the league considered several suspension lengths, but 'life' was never on the table. After seeing the replay, it's just another dirty play from a player who can't seem to help himself. He should consider himself lucky that he only received thirty games, in my opinion.

^ Indeed. That incident wasn't as bad as what we've seen before.

[face_dancing] Devils finally get some scoreing done after going 4 scoreless periods last night against Edmonton. Coming back to win 3-1. A much needed win that will hopefully breathe some life into this team again. They're starting to fall back to their inconsistency in the beginning of the season, which is something that shouldn't be happening.

I really wish Sutter would just leave the lines alone. :(
