Just wondering how many of the LA members are still around. It sure is gloomy today, isn't it?

Well, I still check this forum, but most of the times I'm not in the area.

Hooray! How are you guys? I'm procrastinating as usual. I have a voice lesson in two hours and I still don't know my pieces. Want to give me a crash course in pronunciation of the French language?

Uhhhh, I'd rather hear you sing. :)

Not too well, actually. I have a mid-term tomorrow, and as you can see, I'm posting here now! Dumb dumb dumb....

Good luck on your exams, both of you.

I'm trying to recover from a cold-flu-type thing I've had for the past week. Ugh.

Yeah there's been something going around. I had it two weeks ago.

Today's such a gorgeous day I feel like I should be doing something outside. I think I want to go to the beach. That sounds like fun. WOO!

Ah yes, I miss the beaches. I used to be so close to them, now I'm so far away.

I'm still here, just been very quiet lately.

Would anybody be interested in any kind of get-together? Maybe it's time that Los Angeles had some sort of Fan Force presence. What does everyone think?

Greetings all....well the few of you who coment here ;-)
I live in the LA area and was thinking of making a fan film, got the script ready and everything. Just trying to get some moola for the props and such. Anyway, a friend and I will be going to Mann's chinese dressed in our jedi garb on May 15th. If we don't do the film at least we get to keep the costumes.
That's a GREAT idea, we should get some kind of FanCon or something going out this way.
Oh BTW, my friend and I will be going to the chinese theater next month dressed up to take pictures in front of the poster and "stand in line" ;-) We will post the pics here if they let us....

That sounds like fun, Jedi Speewwy!

Hoping to get some additional interest in trying to do some group, "Fan Force" types of things.

What kind of "things" did you have in mind to do?
I'm an original Star Wars generation kid..oops I mean "adult". I was 6 when it came out in 77 and it's soooooo hard trying to find people who are into SW without being "overly fanatical" to just hang out and talk and swap stories....

Let me think on this, JS. I want to go through some of the other Fan Force sites and see what sort of "social calendar" they do.

I'm a SW adult, also -- and I was waaaaay older than you when I saw the first flick.
And not a fanatic (I hope), just a big fan, with the kind of knowledge and experience that comes with age <g>.

...Although I was a giggly girl when I got to be in the same room as Ewan McGregor Monday night, in Hollywood LOL.

At the Egyptian Theater, where he, Nicole Kidman and Baz Luhrmann were doing a "Show and Tell" after a special screening of "Moulin Rouge." They were concentrating on talking about that (wonderful) movie of course, so he didn't have time to talk about Star Wars, but it was enough just to see him in the flesh.

He's letting his hair grow back after "Black Hawk Down," thank goodness.

That's really cool! I haven't seen moulin rouge, will probably rent it when it comes out.
UGH! what a sad, gloomy day it is! ; - (
So what do all those features mean in your bio? Like "watched".........
Sorry for asking questions but I'm new to this fan film site, and posting replies and such...
Yeah, I don't like his hair that short, he looks freaky ; - )

Well, "Watched By" means other posters get a message when I post a message. Not too many good ones lately, I'm afraid...not from me, anyway.

Then the other "Watched" category is posters for which I get a message when they post.

We had a real lively discussion going once about Episode I, lots of literary references and the like. It was a lot of fun, and very intellectually stimulating. That's where most of these names come from, from people who were posting on that thread. Unfortunately, there aren't that many of those type of discussions any longer.

Just bringing this back up to the top. Who knows, someone may come by....LOL

Hope everyone is planning on a nice holiday (and a safe, quiet one, too).

Nice rain we had yesterday...makes it feel more like winter.
