Hi, I'm Danielle, and I've been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by the prequels. One of my brothers went as Obi-Wan Kenobi for Halloween one year (2005 or 2006??) My mom denies this ever happening, but I remember it very well. My brother and dad used to have lightsaber fights with these HARD PLASTIC sabers, which would HURT when you whacked someone with them. We also had a Darth Vader helmet that played the breathing sound (I interpreted it as "O...VER... O...VER...") when you stuck your head in it.

Eventually, I watched Toy Story 2. We all know the scene. Buzz says "You killed my father!" and Zurg replies "I am your father," then Buzz goes "NOOOOOO...!" I found that hilarious as a kid. My parents told us that it was a reference to Star Wars. I remember going up to random users on Club Penguin and saying "Let's play Star Wars!" then re-enacting the scene. Eventually, we were on a road trip in Rhode Island, and we watched The Empire Strikes Back on DVD. I remember nothing. Not even my current favourite character and namesake. I just remember the duel between Luke and Vader with my mom telling my brother "All your friends like lightsaber fights." (Dunno what the context was.) I don't even remember my reaction to the actual "I am your father" scene. Guess Luke's version wasn't as funny as Buzz's version.

Fast forward years later. My brother would read this book series called Origami Yoda in which a kid folds an origami puppet of Yoda and uses it to give advice. I eventually found the series and became hooked. When my brother originally read it, I just liked the origami and would fold (And even pretend to sell) Origami Yoda and Darth Paper. But I started liking the funny writing and realistic situations, especially the test prep program "FunTime" that the kids had to deal with.

Round that time, I became obsessed with Walt Disney World attractions, since I wanted to go to the park. One of them was Star Tours. I'd heard about the attraction and how "Pee Wee Herman voices the main character," which I wasn't sold on, because even though my mom liked Pee Wee, I found him too weird for me. But now that I was 13, I started to enjoy Paul Reubens as RX-24, since he was cute and funny. Sadly, I did not get to see The Force Awakens, but my mom and brother did. However, I did like playing with a toy of Luke's lightsaber at a Macy's during that time! I got an RX-24 action figure that Xmas.

Our WDW trip finally arrived in June 2016. I took Rex. On our second day, we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios, and I got to see a Star Wars stage show, where I discovered how hot Boba Fett is. That VOICE... keep in mind, I was starting puberty. To top it all off, guess which scene we got on Star Tours (Which I rode with Rex in my hand?)

December 2016 was when I first truly called myself a Warsie. I had seen the OT on TNT prior to this, which kicked off that epic month. I watched The Force Awakens on DVD with my dad (Who hadn't seen it.) We had popcorn and drank Kool-Aid, and it was such a great time. I strangely enough had a crush on OT era Luke Skywalker, which is cringey looking back, because he's a whiny brat, and he also sounds like The Joker (Mark Hamill's other famous role.) That Xmas, I got the lightsaber toy I was playing with last year. I saw Rogue One in theaters on New Year's Day 2017, and liked K-2SO to the point where I cried "K2!!" out loud when he died.

I saw The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker opening night when they came out. With the former, when Luke died, I yelled, "KYLO!! LUKE DIDN'T GET HIS POWER CONVERTERS!!" And with the latter, I had a crush on Finn. I received a Funko Pop of Finn that Xmas.

Nowadays, I'm not really into Star Wars as I am into DC. But when I do, I usually have a crush on Boba Fett (and Jango Fett.) And I love folding origami puppets of the characters. The reason I like Boba and Jango is because Temuera Morrison makes them sound like Swayzak from Toonami's "Trapped in Hyperspace" online game (Which I never got to play when it was online, since I was like, a baby.)

TL;DR I have freaking Toy Story to blame for getting me into all things Jedi.

Yeah. I used to have almost all the Toy Story toys. Even Zurg. My mom would sell them on eBay, and she claims that Bullseye and Zurg were the hardest to find. True to form, Zurg goes for like, a hunk'a money on eBay, nowadays. I WISH I NEVER SOLD HIM!!

LOL, no. She doesn't want me to rebuy my old toys, because she thinks I'm "Greedy." She says I will never get Zurg back. Even worse, with my severe OCD symptoms that could be schizophrenia, I will probably have to stay with her for the rest of my life.

My dad still talks about them. I think the one I got was made out of hard plastic, too. Bring back the inflatable sabers from the '70s!!

I think though that in that case, the problem was more me and my friends then the hard plastic sabers. I couldnt have nice things back then.

Welcome @BobaFett1978 - I really enjoyed your back ground story! I was 11 in 1977, that's where my life changed, forever.

Ask anyone here for help if you need it, but @Lady Belligerent is able to match you up with someone if you need a guide. ;)

    Smooth ;)

I have had a couple of plastic lightsabers with lights and sounds but most of them broke
after hours of 'training' with them. I still have some left in my cupboard but now I prefer to make them out of solid metal rather than buying them! As soon as diric gets his crystal I should be able to finish his saber.
