So I'm going to start a vlog. It's going to be about the history and current issues of my hometown, Amsterdam. Now I noticed from previous shows about the history and current issues of Amsterdam that the presenters's attires have always been rather drab. In fact, it's like there's a rule that if you want to present a show about history and current issues, your attire is supposed to be drab. Beige dinner jackets indoors, thick gore-tex coats outside. I want to break that rule. So what should I wear? I was thinking all-black, slightly edging towards steampunk. I designed a cane: But when the prop shop told me how much that would cost ($1500) I backed down. So what should I wear? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Hercules-esc lion crown. Failing that, a three piece suit and a top hat. Does your home town have any specific traditional Dutch garb?
Maybe ‘simplify’ by having something similar to the second guy in black? No idea how expensive such a thing would be.
I think it has to start with reaching out to @Obi Anne - our true expert in the field of costuming. I wouldn't give up on that cane either - there must be a way to bring that look down to a fraction of 1500.
He's actually a running joke in one episode. Both, because @Rogue1-and-a-half has graciously agreed to do the English voice-over!
There's a definitive Morris Day undercurrent here. Should I get my own Jerome, who brings me a mirror now and then?
That looks really great! I think it would look really cool if you did something contrasting with the trousers, something like a jeweltone green, red or blue.
If you want something like your design up I would try and do a resin globe, I have never done resin casting myself, but I know that there are a lot of kits that you can start with and try it out.
