Help Request: Character Rigging (Grey Alien)

Hey guys. I hate to be one of those people that come on here and ask for help, but I'm afraid I must. I am not that good at rigging characters, and I was wondering if someone here would be willing to rig this model for me. You would be in the credits of course. I need it for a short sci-fi film I am working on. This film will be released online sometime in Feburuary.

Here are the renders of what I need rigged. It is Eugene Mishibinijima's model. He works at Frantic Films. He has done work on films such as The Italian Job, X2: X-Men United, and the Core. He gave me permission to use his model in my film project. If anyone can help rig, I will definately owe you one.

How complex of a rig would you like?

Fingers or just hands?

Facial Rig?

I could probably rig him up for you if it's just a simple biped; but if it requires any custom boning I'm not sure I'd have the time for that.

Sorry Pixel that I can't help you but I'm just curious what project this is you're working on. Is it possible that it does have to do with the Scifi contest over at dvxuser.com? Be sure to keep us updated about it.

 

Any type of rigging would be great. A biped would be perfectly fine, but if you could put a couple of facial expressions in there, that would be great too. Perhaps just one of anger. Maybe confused as well. But if all you have time for is a biped, that would be fine. And yes, his fingers would need to move as well. Btw, he is built in Max 8, so if you don't have Max 8, I can export him as an OBJ for use in older versions of Max.

 

Ok, when do you need the model by?

I can do the fingers, but the facial expressions may be a bit too much depending on the time constraints.

I'm expecting my copy of 3dsMax 8 anyday now via Autodesk suscription, but to be safe I'll grab the .OBJ file from you.

I just need the model in another three weeks or so. Do you have the Max 8 Demo? Because you could rig it that way. I don't have access to Max 8 here at work, so I can't give you the OBJ until later tonight. However, I will need this model in about 3 weeks. But of course, the sooner, the better.

 

Alright, send me the 3ds MAX 8 file for now, and I'll get started sometime tonight.

PS: I see you dropped the Seinfeld quote from your sig, always enjoyed that...lol. You get season 5-6 DVD yet? I hear it has some awesome features.

EDIT: Can MAX 8 save out a Max 7 file? Just curious...

 

Alright, I'll see what I can do. And no, I haven't gotten season's 5-6 of Seinfeld yet. But it is the greatest show ever created.

Also, you can download the demo of Max 8 and still rig the alien. It will not export to Max 7 unfortunately.

 

I can do it for you Pixel, if you wanted I could add in that next lvl of detail (I have zbrush) as well.

I could also do some facial morph targets.
