Saga Here is my unorthodox Star Wars opinion: change my mind!

Crazy how those reviews were considered legitimate film criticism at the time and people were like “OMG. 5-6 hours long?! That’s how you know a film is bad when you can rant for that long!” Now, we have millions of people who are “true fans” that can do the same YouTube-style armchair critic reviews. Seriously, “angry dude rants about nerd culture franchise” is the WOAT YouTube subgenre.

I have friends who find OT boring and old date

They like the Prequels and the other movies. But find the Skywalkers to be a bunch of whiners

 

They talking about the whole saga. But Luke was whiny in ANH and little in ESB

 

They really didn't get the memo about the Skywalker men.

Edit: as an aside, yeah as a whole that TPM review did suck.

here's an unorthodox opinion (no one will agree with)
I don't think the make-up artists have fully ever recaptured Palpatines look from ROTJ.

Now this could be due to lot of things like McDiarmid ageing, but all other appearances seem to be off, like an imitation. With only Mcdiarmid's acting and Sidious' iconic voice pulling it off.

 

I don't blame Han for initially wanting to leave after he got paid on Yavin IV. Kinda makes Luke and Leia jerks for chastising him for only being interested in the reward money.

Well, at that age, 99.999999999999999% of men are, indeed, whiners to one extent or another, and that certainly includes Luke, Ani & K/B. The difference is Luke grew out of it, without becoming a Dark Side-powered henchman for that megalomaniacal con artist Palpatine. And Ani, at least, improved; K/B never stopped whining.

 

To be fair, Kylo was not whiny in TROS.

 

The makeup has a lot to do with it. In the 80's, latex was the go to method for everything. By 2003, however, silicone has been used in place of latex. The other part is the twenty year age difference, but a lot of it is the materials. The same thing happened with Freddy Krueger.

Kylo Rens didnt whine in TROS

 

I haven't seen TROS in years, so I could very well be wrong. It could be that he was previously so much worse than Luke or Ani in that respect that it affected my memory.

 

To me he was no worse then Anakin in ATOC that got memed to death for 20 years.

 

K/B threw worse tantrums, and didn't engage my sympathy like Ani did, until the latter went thoroughly overboard.
