EU Acclamator-IIs were basically this - trading most of their troop capacity for beefed-up guns and torpedo launchers.

I would say that in addition to being our in the middle of nowhere in space...they might even shut everything down and open all interior and exterior hatches....no need to keep any systems up and if there is no gravity or atmosphere it could make them harder...any ship on guard would just have to keep a sweep of sensors for any energy readings.

I would be very surprised if a large number of Clone Wars ships aren't still in commission with the Imperial Navy, as such there wouldn't be many ships in boneyards. The Gozanti-class that Imperials are using as an armed freighter is at least 10 years older then Clone Wars designs, and they're the mainstay of the Imperials in Rebels. The Arquitens-class light cruiser is still in service with the Empire as well, so it would not be surprising if other ships remained in service as well, including the Acclamator-class and Venator-class. One thing to remember though is that the Empire has had over 15 years to build new ships for its expanding military, compared to the three years the Clone Wars spanned. As a result, I would expect that the majority of the Imperial Fleet would makeup of ships built in those 15 years instead of the 3 years of the Clone Wars.

Considering Carrack-class light cruisers were "newcanonized" in the Tarkin novel, it would be nice to see one.

That ship would be nice to see in Rebels. It'd be like the Gozanti-class's big brother. Even has the same TIE complement.

Remember this TIEs did not go into big production until after 5 years after the empire took over

So I can see the Empire still using our favorite ships.

Anyone else get the vibe that the Rebels producers and writers are big fans of the WEG d6 and RPGs in general? They use references to the RPGs in interviews, not to mention the whole 'Rebels are level 5, Vader is level 70' analogy.

Sure some of them started off in West End games or played Dungeons and Dragons or Magic The Gathering and still do.

Makes sense, especially considering the inclusion of the ISB and Inquisitors from the old WEG days. I kind of wonder if we'll see more from WEG sources as the series progresses. I'd kind of like to see more COMPNOR stuff (The Sub-Adult Group would be an interesting element to play with considering Ezra's age and the target audience).

I really would like to see more variety of ships in the episodes. The Ghost needs challenges, and the old Gozanti-class and TIE fighters aren't much of a challenge for the crew, except in massed numbers. The Ghost getting chased by a Carrack-class or a Skipray would be a nice change of pace.

I'd love to see the Missile Boat. This roided up starfighter from the TIE fighter video game series came armed with a bucketload of heavy anti-ship missiles, with which it could threaten even major capital ships. Alternatively it could swap out the anti ship ordnance for even greater numbers of lighter anti starfighter concussion missiles. It could missile-spam whole squadrons of enemy fighters at once. It also had an energy management system enabling shield power to be diverted to the sublight engines, delivering ungodly acceleration enabling it to use boom and zoom tactics.

With enough of them, they could be used in a sort of one-two combo, with several of them jumping in and spamming anti fighter missiles to clear the enemy fighter screen, before the second wave arrives and unloads their heavy anti ship missiles at the starship(s).

As awesome as it is... how would you use that monster in Rebels? Even the XG-1 Assault Gunboat would be dangerous in Rebels.

I still want to see Emperor Palpatine's gigantic Star Destroyer from Dark Empire but we aren't even in the right time period for that.

You know what I'd really like, is for the Ghost to have to deal with this instead of a Gozanti-class.

I'd love a Revenge-class Heavy Carrier. Shame it's fan-made. Which means it has pretty much no chance of appearing in canonical Star Wars, ever.

    This.
I'd really like to see that happen, or for them to explore the idea of CIS-holdouts that folded into the Rebellion. (Though, this would be pretty late-on, since it's some 15 years into the Empire).

Don't know much about the Raider-class, as its a new addition... Is the stuff developed by Fantasy Flight Games canon? Does anyone know?

Bonus points if it's a Rebel cell based in former Separatist territories. I remember running an RPG campaign about a group of rebels based around Mandalore, and they had an absolute ton of old CIS gear... including a guy that had a Lucrehulk which operated like a mobile port of call.

From what I can tell - it's "Legendsverse" info until somebody uses it in a canon source like the new comics, books, cartoons, etc.

So, the Raider is currently a Legends-only ship - but thanks to the Tarkin novel, a number of ships that were originally Legends-only - have been canonized. Take the Carrack-class light cruiser. Even appearing in a movie novelization (RoTS) is not enough to canonize it - but because it appeared in Tarkin, Carracks now exist in both universes.

I'd love to see Kuat Drive Yards.

It and Sienar were both canonized during TCW's run (well, G-canonized as it was then, but in the brave new era of Disney Canon that's important, since getting such an elevation then is your automatic ticket in now). Sienar was later picked up in Rebels as you know, but it first appeared on screen when Hondo dropped off the SAMs on Onderon and stated that they were produced by Sienar.

The KDY canonization was much more obscure, almost certainly noticed by hardly anyone as it went by. It appeared in Lightsaber Lost. See here:
