So Larian have announced that they're aiming to bring mod support across platforms later this year. Yes including on console. I'm so excited.
Eh, Sony nerfed mod support pretty severely in Skyrim such that a lot of stuff had to be rejiggered (and it took years for folks to get the fan patch working while staying within compliance). We’ll see how it goes.
How's honor mode going Sean? Personally I'm now into my second week on my co op run where I'm Astarion. I've already lost track of the party like three times because I was stealing something or not paying attention. I think I'm RPing this right
Divinity Original Sin 2 is FINALLY back on sale on PSN so I bought that for $18 so quickly. Can't wait to get destroyed by that apparently much harder game.
i haven't played bg3 yet, and i haven't found divinity 2 particularly hard. there were a couple things however that i had to look up and i probably never would have figured out without doing so.
I've just heard BG3 is easier. Personally I've found balanced too easy and bumped up to Tactician for my current runs.
Larian, doing their version of A Fistful of Dollars: Larian to disc factory: Get a three-disc production ready. A short time later.... Larian: Our mistake, four discs.
It was either 4 discs for Xbox OR they cut content. Glad they didn't do that. Also I'm excited for my physical copy to arrive.
BG3 is nominated for ten BAFTAS. Including Neil, Amelia, and Samantha being up for best lead and um... Andrew and the Jaheira lady for supporting. I know names.
Lack of expansions is kind of a bummer but whatever on a BG4; I’ll happily follow them to basically any project at this point.
Eh. I don’t know who would be able to self fund it. It’s not like Hasbro would give the cash. I doubt it gets made anytime soon.
Why would Larian move away from D&D titles entirely after producing one of the most successful D&D games of all time?
Our timeline is being meddled with. Some time traveler from the future who works for the Microsony UbiDice conglomerate has gone back in time to this year and replaced the head of Larian. Larian's Baldur's Gate 4 must have been the greatest video game of all time or something and they're trying to stop it from being made.
1. They want to use their new clout to develop their own IPs. 2. Hasbro's boneheaded leadership is also a probable factor.
Because it consumed six years of their life and they did everything they could ever do with it. They tried doing DLC but found their heart wasn't in it so they've decided to leave BG3 as the complete work it is, bar some patching and adding some evil endings.
Yeah, like why deal with those ****heads when you can say “Divinity: Original Sin III - From the Award-Winning Developers of Baldur’s Gate III”? Or even make something totally new? A truly independent studio continuing to exercise its independence is a good thing, IMO.
I'm pretty certain it ain't that from the way Swen's talked of it so far, sounds like they want to go forward, not back
Swen specifically said it's not a WOTC issue and that they were great to work with. It's just that Larian wants to do their own thing, and I respect that.
Yes people blaming WOTC on this one are just ignoring his comments. But you have to realize they spent like half a decade at least working on this game. Thry seemingly feel like they have done everything they can with BG so they are moving on to the next thing. Whatever that may be
Look, Swen is being diplomatic. They let him use the DnD license for something that made Larian famous (for a price) and they aren't going to burn that bridge. I play magic the gathering on the regular; I know full well the ****ery that's going on over in WOTC and Hasbro over the past few years.
