I think your more meant to use it by laying 2 lines incase they do. The ammo was scarse at the time and I wasn't used to the weapon. I was cursing at my tv when I saw it jump over I swear.

Well I could say I played just about 10 hours into the game over this weekend, with progress reaching just under 10% before bringing it back to Redbox. I'm already having withdrawals lol. I got the Strider mount and saved my game at a campfire. Another thing that's cool about the game is that is has a special photo mode in the pause menu. I've taken a few shots and saved it to my capture gallery. Eventually when the next official update for Playstation comes out we should be able to save game-captured photos as your theme wallpaper.

It's not a question of if but when I will be getting the game to own. I'm actually considering waiting a little while until the price goes down, where I could get the full collector's edition for around $100. Don't care for the DLC that comes with it, but that statue belongs in my collection.

One of the main points of the story is "Project Zero Dawn," an undertaking performed by Earth's top scientists and other experts of various fields pre-apocalypse. Details about the project unravel slowly throughout the game. As for the Horizon part, that came out of the title generator website you mentioned.

Yes, there are difficulty settings, and you can change them during the game if it gets too tough or easy for you. I always play on easy when given the option, and only died maybe three or four times, so it's not bad at all. The checkpoint system is generous, you usually only get set back to the beginning of whatever encounter killed you. And I never ran out of healing items.

I actually like the healing system in the game. You gather up medicinal herbs from throughout the landscape and keep it in a pouch. Whenever you want to heal yourself, just press the UP directional button on your gamepad and it uses the herbs to replenish your health. As you move farther into the game, not only does your health bar increase but the capacity for the medicinal pouch increases.

Thanks both, I'm a little, er, occupied with this last Wii U game that's come out plus also wanting to finish DA:I before ME:A hits.

I will likely give this a whirl at some point.

It just becomes simple if you unlock the Forager tree also to gain 3+'s for your pouch. I've only had to use an actual heal potion twice so far in 45 hrs playtime. I'm loving this game and am very slowly making progress on main story and map. My meter says I'm 26% completion. So fun finding random things on map.

I platinumed this game last Thursday. It's the first platinum I've got since Gravity Rush on the Vita. It's a rather captivating new IP and I can't wait to see where they're going to take the franchise with the sequel.

I'd like to say it's a contender for my personal Game of the Year, except 2017 has been an exceptionally strong one for games so far, especially for the PS4.

I would certainly expect it to be among the finalists for GOTY. Especially for ahem, AN ORIGINAL GAME.

It's not officially confirmed, however it's the fastest selling new IP in Sony's history and

    There's a post-credit tease that sets up a sequel.

Even if Horizon 2 isn't seen until the Playstation 5, I'm pretty certain we're going to get a sequel.

You're not going to find me arguing against you on that front. When a completely new IP to bursts out of the gate in the way that Horizon has, it's very impressive. I'm sure it'll at least get a few nods at the end of the year for that alone.

Horizon does a lot of things that appeal to me, with its unique setting, refined monster-hunter style gameplay mechanics and diverse cast of characters. If it had landed any other year I'd throw my hands up and say "Yeah, GOTY for sure." It's just picked a bad year to land if Sony wanted those sorts of accolades. :p

Oh yeah, especially when within a week the new Zelda came along.

Well of course one of the unique characteristics of the game that instantly appealed to my taste was the female protagonist. Here's a good portion of my current PS3/PS4 library: Bayonetta, Tomb Raider (Trilogy, Reboot, and Rise), Wet, Heavenly Sword, FFXIII trilogy, Life is Strange, Street Fighter (Cammy is my main character), female character in GTA 5, and Infamous First Light.

If you're a playstation owner who leans towards female protagonists I highly recommend Gravity Rush 2 (And the PS4 remaster of the first game) once you're finished with Horizon. It's a sorely overlooked little gem.

If you don't already have it, grab a Wii U on the cheap so you can play Bayonetta 2.

That's not enough for me to grab the console for.

I downloaded the demo of that (within days of downloading the demo for Nier: Automata). It's a nice game, but not really something that I'd go up from and pay full price for.

True and to be honest Xenoblade Chronicles X, while a hell of a game, is it enough to buy the console? Not by itself. The new Zelda is excellent but that gets you to three.

The one thing I'd say to bear in mind is that whenever new tech comes out, old tech ends going much cheaper - it may well be Wii U's go so cheap that buying it for 3 games does become worthwhile and cost-effective.

That and for anyone who likes RPGs the Xenoblade games are great and the first is available digitally.

Getting back to HZD, I'd say that is the type of game that I'd consider to be a franchise title; where you would go out and buy the console as it's an exclusive. I know I've seen many people who are Microsoft and Nintendo (and PC) players who were envious of the new PS4 game.

Which is exactly what an exclusive is supposed.

Hell, one of the reasons I got the Wii U was for XCX, which was because that game looked like nothing else.

H:ZD has that same unique aesthetic factor nailed, so yeah, it's exactly the kind of game the PS4 should be hogging.

I expect to give it a whirl at some point, just not sure when with so many big games out this month.

I find myself checking eBay for auctions and buy-it-nows for the game. Now isn't the time of year I like to buy any games, new or used, because I know I won't be playing it all that much with the baseball season starting in April (going through at least September). I'd like to see that Collector's Edition that includes the statue, DLC, artbook, steel case, and the game go down in price.

Hmm, do the Collector's Editions go down in price? Never gone for them so I'm intrigued as to if they do, as I wouldn't expect that.

I'd imagine they would go down in price to coincide with the game going down in price. Of course I could just get the statue and game separate, but even those I'd like to wait anyway.

I can def see Aloy being a mascot for PS now. I'm 60 hrs in 39.89% completion. I've been farting around a lot. I know people that blew through this in 20ish hrs. Where is the fun in that though? I'm getting my $ worth like this.

Do you think they'll do DLC for this? Could it be an easy bolt-on / expansion?

    Everything I've heard suggests it'd be a no-brainer.

If I wasn't busy this past weekend I would've rented the game again for free at Redbox with another coupon they sent me. I probably would've just roamed around hunting to level up and gain new weapons and accessories rather than move on with the primary story. I'd save that for when I buy the game and own it.

I wonder if they'd leave room for more outfits for Aloy beyond those that are currently available. The current ones are very similar to each other. I'd like to see her in something other than a skirt-type outfit for a change.
