Anyone going to go see this when it comes out in March? If you're into 70's slasher/exploitation films then you will probably like it. It's written and directed by Rob Zombie just in case you didn't know.

I remember seeing the trailer for it, what, 2, 3 years ago???

Looked REALLY interesting..

Then it was shelved for it's controversial nature (sounds like it's mucho violent)

I'll definitely be checkin' it out!

I've seen screen captures of it, but it was made awhile ago by that Rob Zombie guy, but it was so incredibly disgusting and gross that they shelved it. It's coming out soon though...I think.

What kinda stupid...GRRRR. Worst! Movie! EVER!!!!

There is absolutely no energy in me to even try and give a review, simply put, don't see it.

It's so bad, you'll want to leave, but then it's so bad you stay to see the end, but then it's so incredibly HORRIBLE that you'll end up leaving. It is the most incoherent, hodge-podged thing in existence!

He should have let them.

It had a decent idea behind it. But everything else was very bad. Screenplay, visuals, directing, dialougue, everything.

They should have let Zombie do the story and then brought in some people with talent to do a re-write and then direct it.

Saw it the other week- it's certainly a bad movie, but does get some positive points for being one of the most sadistic films I've ever seen, it's somewhat refreshing to have a movie that absolutely won't let there be any kind of happy ending for any of the characters- even if the movie itself sucks overall. Definately generates a sense of horror- though not necessarily being scary while doing it.

Alas, it's still dissapointing- I had expected something much better from Rob Zombie, especially after all the praise his unused Crow 3 script got ("too good for the Crow franchise" and all that).

Still, a real pitty the title song ended up being creepier than the film itself. Hopefully, since HO1KC did fairly well at the box office given it's budget, his next film will be a little bit more up to par with his talents.

I'm betting that part of the reason it's not what people were expecting is because of how much was cut out to get an R rating. I'm hoping the DVD will be a director's cut with all the NC-17 stuff left in.

That's probably what dispaointed me the most. I had expected Rob Zombie to bring something new, fresh, or different to the genre. But he didn't.

And I don't think an NC-17 cut would help, IMO. The movie was trying so hard to be shocking that it forgot to be good.

Well, I think he did bring something new to it- that something just wasn't the script or directing, just the aforementioned lack of any hope for the characters.

House of 1000 Corpses II :Variety reports that Lions Gate and Rob Zombie are proceeding with a sequel for an April 2004 release.

Well, if it focuses on the underground crypts and operation rooms more and less on the rednecks in the house, it could certainly improve upon the first (not that would be terribly difficult...) since that was the best part of the movie.
