Nice old Ron Cobb design. ILM could do this very well considering what they've done in the past with Davey Jones and other characters. But these types of characters are better served as background flavor in the SW universe. They're part of the character of the overall environment.

I want a sentient, sass-talking pool of goo as the sidekick, dammit!

I know. I was commenting on the picture itself and what it could bring to SW, not your jedi jelly.

Probably no more with phallic looking noses, like Garindan.

With the advances in CGI, they could really do some amazing aliens. I think the key is to make them real, and avoid overly kid-friendly, sillier characters like those in TPM.

This is an area I have high hopes for in the ST.

I almost forgot I wrote that.
I found that Boba Fett lamp on Google somewhere.

One of the designs from the pt that really liked was the Dugs. The way the moved was so different from any of the OT aliens. I would love to see a member of Oppo Rancsis, the aforementioned snakelike jedi, actually moving around.

I've always wanted the jelly fish. It must be nursing a glass of alcohol, too.

I'm kinda hoping they take a page out of Mass Effect's book in coming up with new alien designs. For non-humanoid aliens, you can have more non-bipeds, like the elcor and especially, since some folks here seem to love jellyfish, the hanar:

Then you can have an alien species that requires wearing a full-body suit in order to survive a normal oxygen-filled environment, like the volus, which breathe ammonia:

Sorry, Chorus, but until you add Cylons, in my book you're an incomplete dork.

See, i think these are good examples of ways to make more bizarre designs work. Like, what makes the alien designs in the movies Bobatron mentioned mysterious and violent is not how they look, but how they act. I could see the Super-8 alien hanging out at a cantina, or dressed up in ceremonial robes, it would probably work better that way than as this assailant.

It needs some brave geezer of a director to use technology from the 1980´s and make it on a shoe string budget. Then it will look real. So many sci-fi films look over produced these days. Keep it real.
