How did Anakin's mom die?

How did his mom die were the Sand People beating her or something. To me it looked like she was physcially exhausted

 

this one's easy, she read the part of the script where it says, die exatly two minutes after anakin gets there, so he can feel helpless, and turn to the darkside by slaughtering sand people


duh

 

It was probably a mixture of several things: she probably wasn't given enough food and water, she was obviously beaten or something because she had large cuts on her cheeks, and like you said, she was probably exhausted.

 

Remember the old joke about the two explorers? That is how she died "Death by [Tusken Raiders] Roo-Roo!!!"

She died because of her injuries.

 

didn't she just die of exhaustion?

 

The tusken's are like mindless monsters, they beat and she had no food.

 

I'd say that Shimi died as a result of numerous beatings and dehydration.

INTERIOR: TUSKEN RAIDER HUT - NIGHT

The lightsaber completes the hole in the wall. ANAKIN
wriggles in. He pulls himself to his feet. There are
candles everywhere.

A shaft of moonlight from a hole in the roof pierces the

from a wooden frame in the middle of the hut.

He cuts her free, takes her into his arms, and lowers her

She was beaten to death. Either recently or over a long period of time (a month as mentioned by Cliegg) so she suffered longer and didn't die quickly. They probably beat her, let her heal, and then beat her again. Were the Tuskens under orders to do so by some higher power?

Also, some more food for thought for those who don't believe in Anakin's fate being orchestrated by the Sith...

Tusken Raiders have a horrible ritual called "bloodrites," a frightful tradition of stalking, capturing and torturing prey over a span of weeks to earn passage into adulthood.

 

i've always believed, and continue to do so, that palpatine was responsbile for shmi's kidnapping, torture and ultimately, her death. oily snake, he is.

 

She's been beaten and probably close to starved for a month. But she's been hanging on to life, trying to survive.
The reason she dies moments after Anakin gets there is that she now feels "complete" and no longer has anything to fight for, her son is a grown man and is okay in fact he's a great Jedi.

 

Remember the last few lines Shmi said to Anakin?


Of course, if we argued by secular reasoning, then she died because of her injuries and exhaustion.

 

It's not terribly hard to conclude what happened to Shmi. A combination of no water, no food, and being beaten would kill you.

 

A combination of beatings and dehydration for a period of time,She only hung on long enough because of her thoughts of Anakin.Having seen him for the last time,she died in his arms.Her injuries was enough for Anakin to go berserk on the Raiders.

I don't think Shmi was at all force sensitive. But you're right she was just holding on to the hope that she would see Anakin one last time before she completely let go.

You are soooo right!!! Or maybe she was just lazy and fat. Either way, its all her fault

 

She lost the will to live.

 

Crucifixion in my eyes, she is tyed arms apart 2 a wooden object and left there. - most things in the prequils evolve around the bible - virgin birth etc but lucas decides 2 crucify the virgin marry if u will.

 

I don't remember well but I can remmeber she was brutalized & starved by the Tuskens. She was very weak and agonizing when Anakin arrived
