In some scenes, it seems kinda impossible with the technology back then, for Yoda to be moving without a computer, or a robot. As i understand it, most movements by Yoda were of a puppet. Was there an animatronic Yoda for the OT?

Almost all of the Yoda Scenes were done by the puppetry of Frank Oz/with the combination of animitronics for the facial expression.

The scene where Yoda walks off was done by a midget.

Yup, midget for the long shot of Yoda heading off into the swamp, and Oz + co. crouched down on the floor for the other stuff.

I believe the sets on Dagobah were constructed so that there was a space underneath, so Oz and his team could scrunch down there and operate Yoda. I also think that Hamill had to carefully speak his lines in synch, since he wouldn't be able to hear Oz talking and Yoda's voice was dubbed on afterwards.

How did they move Yoda? Well if he's standing on a bit of swamp they can just push him and he'll just slide right along....!

They move him the same way they do with the Muppets! I don't know what Yoda I like better. CGI or puppet. I hate the TPM Yoda though.

Frank Oz was beneath the floor on the Dagobah set, and he moved the Yoda puppet around as needed.

Why didn't they just used that very midget to do all the Yoda scenes for ESB and ROTJ as well as the prequals?

It would've saved Lucas the trouble of making him a puppet and a CG character for AOTC.

Well, they CG'd him for AOTC so they should make him a lot more mobile. Certainly more mobile then a midget in a robe and an unwieldy rubber head.

A puppet Yoda couldn't have fought Dooku like that.

They couldn't use the midget for most scenes because GL wanted Yoda to be shorter than any human being actually is.
