This thread is for the discussion and/or explanation of word pronunciations in the Star Wars Universe. Whether it's the name of a planet, a character, etc. This started through several words I had mispronounced, including Lumiya(I pronounced it Loo-mee-ya) when it's really Loo-mi-ya. I also pronounced Caedus Cade-us, when it's really Kai-duss.

If you're having problems pronouncing a word, come here. Type the word, share how you spell it, and wait for others to either confirm or deny the correct pronunciation. I find it best to rely on Audio books, but those can sometimes be wrong. Also, if you get a chance to hear the author pronounce the word, share it. That's how I learned about the correct pronunciation for Caedus.

So, to start us off, what is the correct way to say Twi'Lek?

I've heard it two ways, both in universe I believe: Tweye-lek and Twee-lek.

If you'd like to suggest any other words, go ahead.

    Sill-gal seems more feminine.
