I just found this odd. In Rogue Planet, Obi-Wan has several flashbacks of Qui-Gon's death and he says something like "...cut down by the mysterious Sith, Darth Maul."

How does he know Darth Maul is "Darth Maul"
As i far as I remember in the novel and the book Darth Maul never says his own name to the Jedi. Or did Obi-wan climb down the reactor shaft and retrieve Maul's wallet or something...?

They probably got the name from the Neimoudians... Who carefully avoided mentionning Sidious, of course...

    Oh right...

Why didn't I think of that?
Maybe if the Jedi tortured Nute Gunray they could find out all about Darth Sidious.

And this just popped into my head. What if the big plot twist in AOTC or epi 3 is not that Darth Sidious and Palpatine are the same person but that they are NOT the same person.

Maybe I should start a new thread for that.

Well, according to Shadow Hunter, they are one... But then it's a matter of 'if GL respects the EU'... And that is another debate you really don't want to get in.

i dont think the plot twist could happen like that.......George Lucas already said they are the same person. I believe he said it at some press conference when someone asked if they were the same person.

I've said it before and I'll probably say it again...ofcourse Sidious and Palpatine are the same person...just look at Emp. Palpatine in RotJ, and then look at Darth Sidious in TPM...they have the same taste in wardrobe for crying out loud.

Anyway, I always thought that the ship carrying the captured Neimoidians at the end of TPM would just mysterious vanish or blow up or something...that is until I heard (Warning Spoilers)

that Nute Gunray is showing up again in Ep. II

    (end Spoiler)
It just seems out of character that Sidious would leave such a loose end lying around to me ya know. Oh well it's no biggie.

Well, thankfully DM: SH doesn't really confirm anything. It's still basically all up to interpretation, although it is strongly hinted at in that novel.

Darth Sidious - a sith lord with so far two apprentices.

Emperor Palpatine - former senator of nadboo, now a Dark Jedi, with a Sith Lord as an apprentice.

    You do the maths.

Mcallum said they were one and the same actor in on of the interviews.

you can even see the jawline are the same in both. And both used the same balcony apartment.

Maybe the big twist will be that Sidious is Palpatine's twin brother.

They might of found his name in his Ship, The Jedi would have most certainly inspected it, even the Jedi Council when they were on Naboo at the end of TPM.

What if Maul left the Infiltrator aboard the droid control ship?

    Two things

    1. If he left it on the control ship, how did he get to the surface? If something went wrong he could make an easy escape.

    2. It would not be cloaked because he did not expect what happened to happen, and the Newmoidians would be stupid enough to try and gain access.

    3. If it was cloaked, it could not stay cloaked for 10 YEARS. Advanced as it may be, it is not that advanced. The Jedi Council could probably sense the Residew of Maul and track the ship.

    So there!

Mav also something I was thinking, :D.

or there is the possibility that it will self-destruct if someone not maul tries to enter it to access information. Like what was done with the phantom ties.

It says quite clearly in the Dark Side Sourcebook that it was found on Naboo, Palpatine probably had it seized as evidence and hid it from everyone though.

Even if they tortured the Neimoidians, what could they say? A guy with long range commications from an undisclosed location is our benefactor. We don't know who he is, or what he looks like.

The Jedi would know they're telling the truth. It's a dead end.

Rhys Darrows piloted the Sith Infiltrator in the Battle of Naboo, at least according to the game "Starfighter."

Didn't a droid steal it, or something, and it was later shot down over Coruscant?
