He thinks that somehow the script intended for Dooku to be genuinely confused by the clone army despite the film establishing that Dooku recruited Jango Fett to serve as the prime clone as well as presumably bankrolling the whole operation with his personal wealth, as well as the fact that Jango Fett knew that Obi-Wan discovered the clone army and reported back to Dooku about it as well as how you mentioned that Dooku was pleased that the war started as he told Sidious at the conclusion of the film.

And evidently despite all the overwhelming evidence that Dooku was obviously playing at being shocked by the clone army in front of his "allies" to maintain the facade that he sincerely was interested in the Separatist movement, there's no way that you can convince him that it's not a mistake. And if you don't think it's a mistake, you're either gullible or misinformed.

So he's a troll. And if he's not, well... lol.

Thinking about this really makes me want to know more about what Dooku expected the Clone Wars to be. We get a little of this in the ROTS novelization, but it would be cool to see this in depth.

Honestly I respect your beliefs and when I watch AOTC I pretend the exact same thing, that it wasn't a goof by the writers and that it was intentional all along. So at least we can agree on that.

I know right? Some people are just rude, even when you show them nothing but respect. The world we live in. [face_shame_on_you]

Then why do you keep replying to me with the same accusations? I've tried to end the conversation a few times, knowing that it will go nowhere but you guys keep bringing it back up. Now you're complaining that it "got boring".

    Mind = blown.

Pretty sure Christopher Lee―and by extension, Dooku―knows a thing or two about this acting thing.

    Lol!

Are you saying that Dooku was lying????

Why would he lie? He's always been an honourable man. Count Dooku was once a jedi, he couldn't lie to anyone. He didn't even lie to Obi-Wan about Sidious. He wouldn't lie about knowing about the clones because he's not a coward.

Honorable men still lie. And Jedi don't have any problem with lying if a lie's needed.

He didn't *need* to lie. He told the exact truth, but only because he knew that he wouldn't be believed. If he tells them the villain's right behind Door #3, they're going to start checking every *other* door first.

Not sure what being a coward has to do with anything...

I honestly can't tell if you're being really rude or playing some kind of internet person game.

Either way I have no idea what you're saying about 87% of the time.

From a few pages back, but I wanted to note that Dooku may not have been that foolish to think he could have been pardoned and given a public role in the new Empire.

If it "comes to light" that the Jedi orchestrated the war for their own benefit, Dooku would start to look like a real genius for leaving the Jedi when he did and then fighting against them. The public may have had a hard time forgiving the rest of the Separatists because of the blood they spilled and the atrocities they committed on a direct level, but Dooku was a political leader. In the eyes of the citizens of the Republic, he remained aloof and idealistic through most of the war, mostly appearing via holograms to his commanders and having stooges like Grievous get their hands dirty.

He could definitely have been rehabilitated to the public as a good man fighting on the wrong side for the right reasons, much like Robert E. Lee is thought of by many today (though I don't agree with that view of Lee).

And AOTC Dooku isn't even a Jedi anymore. One would think that a Sith wouldn't have a problem with deception.

According to the newest season of TCW on Netflix
Dooku knows about Order 66, and remains in close communication (as Lord Tyranus) with the Kaminoans.
