Or the IEDs you can make on the Prosecutor, or a shot or two from the anti-armor launcher.

I think it says on Wookieepedia that there is a different type in each of the movies. But I'll have to check it out again before saying anything, I guess.

We also see unshielded ones at the Battle Of Naboo-fighting the Gungans, and capturing Amidala and company in the palace.

Offhand, my favorite way of dealing with droidekas is from LoE- MagPulse Buster, following by SPHA-T mass bombardment. :p

There's also the method from TCW's Ambush.

Have your clones fire rocket launchers at the conveniently placed nearby terrain.:p

Something like what Arawn_Fenn posted. Keep in mind, the OP specifically stated non-force users, which means guns, grenades, that sort of thing, not lightsabers, not force pushes. Pretty much, I see it as getting the terrain around them to destroy them for you. If you have explosive devices, such as a rocket launcher, even if the shields are too strong, blow up the ground right at their feet, giving them a large divot to fall into because they couldn't get out of the way...if you are in a terrain with lots of "stuff", instead of an open field, like Arawn suggests, blow up things around them, let the debris overwhelm the shields.

Unless you've got a couple of missile launchers in your pocket, I think running and letting the artillery handle it sounds fine ;)

Here's something else- the TPM Visual Dictionary states that a droideka's shields only completely stop pistol fire. For rifle on up to artillery fire, it only 'significantly weakens' them...

So, what would happen if you brought a good, long-range, armor-piercing rifle like the Rebel A280, which is said to have bolts powerful enough to blow a fully-armored stormtrooper clean in half (using this as an example, since I can't think of any other armor-piercing rifles off the top of my head)? Would that eventually penetrate the shielding, then go through the bronzium armor plate?

Depleted uranium rounds shot out of a minigun would do the trick

About as dumb as the "having the High-Ground", if you ask me. Or Maul, for that matter.
can't say that I had the same delusion of grandeur, but mine was somewhat similar. I was certain we'd at least see Kenobi progress to a point where "droidekas were no match for him". I really thought we'd see a significant difference between a padawan, a knight and a Jedi Master... and when we didn't, THAT was my letdown.

IMO i like the idea that droidekas are the anti-Jedi droid. enough of a threat that 3 of them can fight a Jedi master and padawn to a stand-still. When i first saw AOTC and one shot from a clone's rifle blows a droideka up i just thought they had extra strong ammo or something.

They aren't Jedi-killers anymore...much like anything else, their introduction in TPM might have been an early encounter with them.

Considering "Master, Destroyers!" at the time, vs. the much more prevalent "droidekas"...experience with the tin cans was limited.

Qui Gon and Obi run because the tactics weren't explored yet.

By TCW...it's cake...they've been through dozens if not hundreds of encounters.

    ----

Same thing with Luke...has the boy had a lot of experience fighting this model? heck no. Find a manual on Coruscant "Jedi technique to KO a Droideka by Obi-wan Kenobi"? heck no.

Never underestimate the value of knowledge of your opponent. First encounters can be tricky.

Obi-Wan should have written down droideka-destruction tips in his little book.

You could always build a Death Star or a galaxy Gun and blast it to pieces.

Which is exactly why Grievous can kill dozens of Jedi but against our heroes lasts all of a few minutes; he's a one-trick pony. Beat him once, and you've more or less worked out all his tricks.

In SW:Battlefront, the droidekas have a blind spot right in front of them where their blasters can't reach. Just sprint into point blank range and unload until their shields run out.

You can use the same tactic in Republic Commando to kill them with your vibroblade.
