How the hell is Luke blonde if Anakin, Padme, and both of THEIR parents have brown hair too?

No, their hair color looks pretty much the same. They're both dark blonde (like mine).

By the way, I liked Anakin's hair in ROTS, but I didn't like how it looked like he hadn't washed it in a week.

 

Yeah, Anakin's and Luke's hair color are pretty much the same. It's not uncommon for people's hair color to darken as they age. It happens more often than not. The same with eye color. You could read a metaphorical reasoning into this as well. In Anakin's youth, he's blonde-haired and blue-eyed. As he gets older and closer to the Dark Side, his hair color and eye color get darker, as do his clothes. The same goes for Luke.

 

I agree. I was born a very vibrant blonde, but as I got older, it turned into brown (about the color of Anakin's). I'm assuming that would be what happened here.

 

Um, well hey. You know how Anakin was blonde in episode 1?? and kinda blonde in 2? DUH?????
Thats not including the fact that 2 people with brown hair can have a blond kid!!!!!

 

Being dirty blonde myself and having sister who is blonde. I can safely say from experience that the colour naturally changes during the year, because of exposure to the sun.

It's lighter during summer and darker during winter. If we travel south to warmer climate, the hair gets even lighter. If I'd go to desert with two suns, my hair would turn several shades lighter.

Luke's hair changes because he starts hanging in colder climates and space ships.

 

anyway it's always possible to have nearly every haiclor because we are nor pure blooded . ..
maybe there was a even a red haired (or so. with genotype red haired ) and we don't know it...ok the chance would be low but there 's a chance..)

 

My dad has black hair. My mom has brownish/red hair. Three out of my four granparents have black hair. One of my grandparents has blond hair.

Wow, I never would've thought this thread would get so many replies. But I think there still a wierd explanation 4 this.

 

Mmmmm.... maybe there's no explanation. Maybe it was an oversight in continuity. Agree with the posts saying that it's linked back to Anakin's hair in TPM though. It darkens as you get older. It's surprisingly simple. No weirdness required.

 

Actually I would be more worried about the fact that Anakin has serious hair continuity problems in the PT.Like that as a child his hair is completely straight not curly in any way.In AotC it's too short to see that anything is really wrong.But in RotS it's long and obviously completely curly!
How the hell did that happen?Did he get a perm or something...
I know that Hayden has naturally curly hair so there isn't much they could have done about it,but it's still a little weird.Nothing too upsetting just weird.Is there a natural explenation for this?

 

Ooooh. Hadn't thought of that. Now that IS weird.. and I can't think of a natural reasoning for this. Could make for an interesting PT thread... hmmmmm...

You'd think that they'd have used a hair straightener to fix the curls though. But I'm getting off thread here!

Sometimes it happens when you cut it down. I had straight hair as a child, and it has become wavy in my twenties. My cousin's hair has even become curly!

 

and there is also the queatin how long must the hair become to get curly or wavy. i know some people where the has to reach the shoulders to become wavy

Two people can have a blonde kid even if they're parents didn't and they don't. My dad has (or had) blonde hair and my mom has red-ish hair. And she had lots of redheads in her family, but none of her kids do.

Very true, when I was a youngin I had really bright surfer blond hair, now its really dark brown. I'm mad becasue I used to be so cute, now I just look scary. Im sad now

Luke's hair?

Anakin's was true blonde in TPM.

Dirty blonde in AOTC.

NOT blonde in ROTS...it was mahogany brown...with natural blonde highlights.

Luke's was true blonde in ANH.

It IS a little darker in ESB.

At the end of ROTJ it is the same colour as Anakin's in ROTS. Minus the blonde highlights...Padme's influence.

I reckon he inherited it. AS for me. My hairs going lighter!

Leia's hair is almost the same shade as Anakin's was too!...hers is more red than Padme's...sort of.

As for Anakin's curls...Lucas wanted him to look...reckless...

...it worked!
