I think in general Padawans would call knights "Master" whether it was his master or not, and even if it was just a Knight and not a Jedi Master.

I disagree. I think Masters and Knights are on different levels. For instance, Anakin was once a Jedi Knight, but never a Jedi Master. Usually in my fics they say "Knight So-and-so" and call their own Master, Master (regardless of 'rank'). I have seen Knights with Apprentices called Master So-and-so, however. I guess it's up to personal choice as it's not been clearly spelled out. As long as you're consistent. :)

Obi-Wan never achieved the rank of Master, and Masters Yoda and Windu both call him Master Kenobi.

Master seems to be the equiv. of "Mister".

I could be wrong but I thought I saw on the official site that if a knight is in the process of training an apprentice he gets the honorary title of master. Knights who don't have apprentices are referred to simply as Knight Kenobi etc.
