[Husker Du- imagine your own umlauts] Greg Norton's magnificent mustache

So, I'm finishing up Husker Du's Zen Arcade for the very first time (did you listen to this in 1984? You're old). If you've never heard this album, it is kind of like the hardcore punk version of The Wall or Quadrophenia, except that it's better than both.

Now, while I am fully floored by songs like "Pink Turns to Blue" and "Masochism World", I am equally floored by bassist Greg Norton's mustache.

Check that baby out. Such magnificence has not been grown out of people's upper lips since the 1800s. What's more is that he's a chef now! And he was the only straight guy in Husker Du! What a dreamboat.

 

I could easily grow a moustache like that...

However, I would not score any chicks if I did.

EDIT : And I would look strikingly similar to Greg Norton, at that.

 

Blue Öyster Cult was the first band to have a superfluous umlaut.

Right now it's stuck in my face. As I stated before, I would score no chicks if it were to make an appearance.

 

Freaked me for a second that their name is a danish frase meaning "Do you remember?".

 

Yes it is. They got it from one of them asking what the French phrases were in "Psycho Killer" and one answered back "Husker Du?". What jokesters!

 

With that mustache, you sure he wasn't the only gay guy?
