Hutt Naming Patterns

There seems to be a lot of confusion (on my part anyway) over the pattern Hutts give to their names. Here are some examples.

Ok, in the Desilijic Clan, we have Zorba Desilijic Tiure, and his brother Pazda Desilijic Tiure. There is of course, Zorba's son Jabba Desilijic Tiure, and possibly Jocoro Desilijic Tiure (mentioned in SW167 and the CUSWE) who may or may not be Jabba's brother.

Following that system, I always assumed that Hutts had a given name (Jabba) a clan name (Desiljic) and the immediate family name (Tiure).

Ok, there's the simple bit. But then, we are introduced to Jiliac Desiljic Tiron in the Han Solo Trilogy. There are conflicting sources all over the place, including WOTC incorrect assumption that Jiliac is Jabba's parent, The Paradise Snare in which we see Zavval calling Jabba, Jiliac's "great-nephew" and that Jiliac is Zorba's sibling (NEGTC).

Other Desilijic of note mentioned include, Gorr Ebelt Desilijic, Narbuj Desilijic Preor, Shebba Kalshi Desilijic and a few other clan members who weren't given a full name.

And then we have the Besadii Clan. In the Han Solo Trilogy we are introduced to Aruk and Durga. Now here's the weird thing. NEGTC gives Aruk's full name as Aruk Besadii Aora and Durga as Durga Besadii Tai. So, why does Durga have a different family name than his parent? In the NJO we have Durga's cousins, including Borga, Randa and Bana, who are all Besadii Diori.

So, the Dioris are all cousins etc and have the same name, but then we have Aruk and Durga who are parent and offspring, and have completely different family names (as shown in my example above).

So, any theories on this inconsistency?

In-universe explanation if possible.

 

Perhaps all the offspring of one Hutt are all given the same immeidiate family name, though it is different from that of the Hutt which bore them? Like Jabba is part of the Tiure batch perhaps?

Sub clans, the way you have Levan and Rutian Twi'lek colours?

 

I though Lethans and Rutians were races, not clans.

Wasn't sure if they were his brothers or not. Thanks for the tidbit.

And yeah, the Lethan and Rutian Twi'leks are races, much like Caucasion and Negroid humans. The main confusion really is just Aruk and Durga's name difference and Jiliac (if he is Zorba's brother) having a different last name.
