I can't Force jump in Jedi Academy.

How is it done? I tried holding the jump button, but the jump was as high as usual and not enough to jump across that bridge on the training grounds.

 

Use the rocket launcher, or rail gun - then point it at the ground and jump and fire at the same time.

You can't jump using the rail gun, you could use the plasma gun to wall jump

Or the classic grenade+rocket jump but that takes skills.

Anyway in JA I thought the only thing you should do is press jump and hold for a force jump. Of course you need to have force points in it.

 

Because you're a n00b Jedi during the training at the beginning, OMG j00 have lousy force jump. I'd try jumping over the break in the bridge on the right side, where the two sides are the closest. If you can't do that, get your Force speed on and rinse and repeat.

 

Not a problem anymore. I just didn't make a long enouth run before jumping.

 

Because the controls for that game are horrible beyond belief.

Well, it *is* the quake 3 engine, after all... and the pc controls are what you make them...

 

How can a game, that allows you to assign any button to any task in the game, have horrible controls?

You can re-assigned the controls to whatever keys you wish. Why didn't you do that? Oh yeah, because you're a noob.

Do people play this stupid game anyway? The missions are boring. The characters are laughable. It makes SW look like a mess.

 

Because the Multiplayer modes on the PC are awesome.

 

Siths_Selfpwnage, you forgot to add, "and the Multiplayer pwns me in the face." JA Multiplayer is amazing. I definitely play it more than any other game, Star Wars or non.

I fully agree. When i first picked up JA (what, 2 years ago now?), i didn't have a connection decent enough to even contemplate trying multiplayer. I FINALLY got a Cable-connection and, while unpacking after the big move to my new place, i came across JA. I decided to install it and FINALLY give the MP a whirl. I cannot tell you how impressed i was (especially after having played Republic Commando on MP and been pretty disappointed). It's supplanted CS: Source as my game of choice.

 

The multiplayer is so fun I love that game, you know what im gonna play it right now.......
