These insinuations of organization really crack me up. Makes for good clickbait though, I'll admit.

 

As we get closer to the release date, there are going to be haters writing articles and circulating negativity all over the internet as a last ditch effort to bring this whole thing down. It's unfortunately the society we are living in. Sad and pathetic.

 

Ah, damn it. Sorry for that.

 

Hate is an expensive emotion. Chose carefully what you spend it on.

I hate that I have to be in this thread and not the other one. I wish I could be excited for this last episode. But nothing I've seen - not a trailer, not a clip, not an interview - has generated any confidence that they will stick the landing. In fact, forget that metaphor, there's no need to stick the landing. They face planted after TLJ. Which is too bad, because TFA showed some promise.

 

Yeah, this. I'm sad that I feel more inclined to post here rather than the positive thread. I really liked the first two films but the leaks and marketing for TROS have really taken the wind from my sails.

 

I'm really hoping for the best but Mike Zeroh has posted the last two days that many Luke and Palpatine scenes have been cut to make way for scenes that push an agenda and identity politics and thus that the storytelling has taken a hit.

 

I want to contribute negatively to this thread. There is a near zero chance TROS will be the best movie of the ST. It looks like it will have some really lame moments, like Kylo becoming Ben Solo again.

im just gonna put this out here now......if the leaks are true and critics still gush about JJ.....then something is seriously effed up.

 

After the way the critics gushed about TFA, whatever little interest I had in what they had to say before turned into something a midichlorian would feel cramped in.

 

If you search the article title 'Disney Disturbs the Force: Pleasing Star Wars Fans Complicates Saga' on Google and clickthrough I get through without the paywall.

 

You know that The Rise of Skywalker will be a bit like eating a Big Mac. You know that it isn't really good for you. You know that it isn't even real food. But you're hungry, and the bright lights are pulling you in. You wolf down the Big Mac, and you convince yourself that you are enjoying it. Yet after you have eaten it, you feel a bit greasy and wretched, and worse still, you're still hungry because beneath all the salt and the ketchup and the gherkin, there was no real meat. No nutrition.

I just don't have any idea how this movie could be what it needs to be for a finale of all the other films. With Luke at most a ghost, Han dead, and Carrie Fischer actually gone there is no possible way IMO to satisfying conclude an addendum to the OT's story. If Leia's send off is just her hugging Rey and smiling at the new characters through the magic of stock footage then I'll be disappointed. And that's really all they can likely do. I honesty can't say what the long game character arcs are for the sequel trilogy characters so I'm not really invested in their stories. Can they really do any redemption story with Kylo that hasn't been done with Vader? The Last Jedi was just so off the rails that I can't see this as being anything other than at best a slapdash course correction. Palpatine coming back just irritates me. Like, nothing was accomplished in the OT. All the heroes are dead or irrelevant.

 

Can't say I am ready to "hate" this film, but this entire trilogy has been a waste of concepts, story, and ideas. Also, the whole anti-George Lucas/anti-Prequel Trilogy feel of the entire thing is downright insulting. Just happy this era of "OT-nostalgia riding repackaged into the 2010s" SW can end
