Here's another funny little article from Premire magazine (February) about Hayden and Natalie. The exchange at the end of the interview is either amusing or off-putting depending on how you feel. I expect Emuboy in here any minute now!


Harris:[screaming] You can't walk away from me! I am the man! I am the men-tor. King Kong ain't got nothin' on me!! [Christensen keeps walking.] Hey, kid! Just answer me one question.

Christensen:[turns around] What?

Harris: Natalie Portman?

Christensen: Yeah?

Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher were an Item? The release of John Baxter's biography of George Lucas is old news, but this very short report about a possible affair between Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher was posted to Yahoo! late yeterday evening.

UPDATE: Ariv informs us that the subject of the Ford/Fisher affair was first mentioned in Garry Jenkins' 1997 book "Empire Building; The Remarkable Real Life Story of Star Wars."

He points out page 114:

The dynamics of Fisher, Ford, and Hamill's off-screen relationship was an almost mirror image of Star Wars. Hamill later admitted he had a serious crush on his costar. Fisher had been awestruck by Ford's tall good looks and laconic manner the moment she met him.... The trio became inseparable--Ford and Fisher particularly so. 'Whenever anyone couldn't find Harrison, you'd say, 'Have you tried Carrie Fisher's changing room?' ' said David Prowse.

Oh, darn it... I should probably add that the above interview is fake. I mean, it really was printed in Premiere magazine but the actual interview never took place. It was just the writer having a bit of fun. I'm such a dufess!

 

Fisher did admit that she and Ford got trashed a couple nights when filming. She said they were really hungover during some of the Bespin scenes.

 

She still didn't admit to singing the life day song.

Apparently, Natalie Portman, who reprises her ''Phantom Menace'' role as Queen Amidala, found herself included in that group of laggards at times. Christensen would take the task of playing Portman's on-screen love interest (their union will eventually produce Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia) to Actors Studio extremes. ''I don't want to make it sound like he's difficult to work with, because he's not at all, but he's very focused,'' Portman says. ''Hayden would get mad at me occasionally for not taking something seriously enough. There were scenes where the entire take would be us walking up stairs, and he would be like: 'You're swinging your arms too much! You're not taking it seriously! You're not walking the way your character would walk!' I would get all pissed off at him and be like, 'It's not your place.' But he would be right.''


That was part of an interview w/Hayden for the New York Times. He's been a butt cheeck lately...

Katy: I don't think he was being a "butt-cheek"; I just think he's very serious about his acting and that comment towards Natalie was taken out of context. She seems fine with it.

As far as whether or not he has a crush on her--maybe, maybe not. It's hard to tell, and that's probably how it should be, because if the two of them didn't evade questions about their relationship, the press would be all over them even more than it is already.

Katy: You lost me there. I saw some of the threads on this messageboard--I responded pretty much the same way I did here.

Actually, I could add something else--if he's been a "jerk", maybe it's because he's been under a lot of stress lately--being suddenly thrust in the public eye is not exactly a walk in the park. He's been in a situation for the past several months in which we'd all be snippy in our interviews, especially if we gave an interview while sick with bronchitis.

Here's the way I see it: Here's a young guy (young to me, at least--I'm almost ten years older than he is) whose passion is acting; he has said that he never really had a desire to be famous. He got a chance to act in one of the greatest films of all time, and he took it. Who can blame him? But here's what comes with the territory: obsessed fans (he said in one interview that he has already been the victim of some "weird stalker types" ), including grown men screaming at you because you can't give them an autograph right that second (don't get me wrong--I'm a huge fan of his; but I agree with Hayden about that man--I'm 30, and I have better things to do than spend money on a plane ticket just to go get someone's autograph); people on messageboards criticizing your every word; having to interview when you're sick; being subjected to constant questions about your love life, your bad habits, what posters hang on the walls in your bedroom. No one should have to put up with some of this, famous or not. I don't consider it the "price you pay for being a good actor". I think it's barbaric, and I feel sorry for him, and for Natalie and Ewan and the others who have had to put up with this stuff.

 

I realize there is already a thread devoted to the following article but I want to keep it all in the family. I mean, this IS the official thread on all things that transpire in a Hayden-Natalie relationship. So, sorry to the guy who has a fettish for drinking boba.

Natalie Portman says kissing co-star Hayden Christensen in the next ?Star Wars? installment ?Attack of the Clones,? made her feel sort of like a prostitute. ?It feels so weird being told to kiss someone you don?t want to kiss,? Portman told the Scottish Daily Record. ?You feel almost whorish being told what to do in a sexual way. Many girls would love to kiss Hayden, but we are friends and I just don?t feel that way about him.?

I don't think Hayden or anyone else should take offense to this. That's just Natalie, this is not the first time she made such comments about having to do such scenes. Though, I have to admit that Hayden is a pretty handsome guy (albeit, a pretty boy... don't bother to deny it!!) and Natalie should just learn to have fun with it, especially if she has to do more scenes like this in EP 3.
