JCC I think I might have a serious medical issue with my hand.

Okay, this is a bit long, but about 11-12 days ago, I was at work when I just started randomly clapping my hands as loud as I could. I was more bored than anything. Suffice to say, I clapped a little too hard once and my right hand was smarting a bit, it was certainly painful, but nothing unbearable. I didn't have to leave work early or anything.

By the next day, the palm of my hand was swollen in an area from underneath my pinky and ring fingers to the middle. Whenever I touched the surface of anything, it would feel like I had the bottom of a slightly flat ball in the middle of my palm. It's been feeling that way for the past week and a half, pretty much. But in the last few days, it's gotten itchy, too. Today, especially. I was told it would just go away by a friend who did something similar to his hand when he clapped too hard. Obviously, not top-of-the-line medical advice, but I did have good reason to believe it was all because of clapping too hard. That's when it started, after all.

A little while ago, as I would touch my palm, I realized it felt a bit odd. It actually felt a little... pleasurable? You know when you, uh, touch an erect penis, how the skin sensations feel? it actually felt a bit like that. I wasn't even thinking of anything sexual, had nothing in my head at all, except this infernal swelling and now itching that just won't go away already.

Before long, I started scratching my palm back and forth, and it was really quite remarkable how, well, good it felt. I know it's not rational at all, and that's why I'm really, really scared right now. Then, feeling simultaneously confused, intrigued, and afraid, I just started scratching until I was furiously running my left index finger back and forth across the palm of my right hand. It's not that pleasurable anymore, although should I expect it to be so again after an hour or two? I really don't know.

Please help, no joking, JCC. Has anyone had a similar experience to this? Google is at a loss to help me out.

A few years ago I fell over for some reason and put my hand out to break the fall. The palm of that hand went swollen and itchy (no orgasms though!). I don't think it's anything to worry about. It will just pass.

Now I know I'm being Captain Obvious at this point but you really shouldn't be scratching it or rubbing it. According to this site the swelling is caused by "fluid buildup or inflammation of the tissues or joints of the hand" so by scratching it you're increasing the inflammation of the tissues. Or something like that.
