Here are the lyrics to Crawling so you can see just how well the song inadvertently describes Anakin's transformation from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader.

I was thinking more along the lines of one step closer.

 

Palpatine: Black Sabbath - Electric Funeral

 

One Step Closer describes the ending of the transformation, when Vader's about to go get him some Jedi. That song seems more of the breaking point.

Crawling seems to described the confused, unsure parts, before he's seduced by the Dark Side of the Force (or at least before he realizes he's being seduced).
