IGN Boards, PAY ONLY

Yeah,I used to post over there,but not anymore. I like this place better. Oh yeah,could someone direct me to a website that gives information on video games,especially for Nintendo Gamecube,that is FREE? Thanks.

I ain't paying money to use a messageboard. Other than the cost of connecting,the internet should be free. IGN,I wash my hands of you.

Ign64 was a great little site back when it was black & red, free... good features... it was pretty much the only site I went to regularly, besides the JC...

Blah.

 

I just got in tonight, went to IGN and all my favorite boards had Suscriber Only Board next to them. Screw that. I enjoy the IGN boards, but I'm not about to start shelling out money to use them.

Did they give any warning about this? Because I don't remember reading anything. I wish I would have known so that I could have at least tied up some loose ends in some of my posts.

My how times have changed... a few months ago pc.ign.com was my homepage. Now it's boards.theforce.net.

So, anyone wanna take bets on when IGN will announce bankruptcy?

 

from recent events, snowboards seem easy enough to hack. maybe I'll talk to a hacker aquantance and have them delete the IGN boards.

I like the AB extras, though the lack of deleted scenes (most notably the original courtroom ending) is most definitely a letdown. I hope my opinion counts for something, after all, AB is my favorite movie.

 

I really liked posting on their video game boards. But there's no way I'm paying to use them. I didn't really care before, the boards were the only thing on IGN I used, who cares about their magazine. And from what I saw a lot of the people who posted there weren't Insiders. I think they're going to lose TONS of people.

I'm gonna miss posting there.

I will miss getting the quick help on videogames, but any site that makes you pay for that stuff is in a heap of trouble.

By the way Soothsayer = Sithsayer. Due to the fact the IGN went out i figured it was time for me to bring back the name from the good ole days to post here in these community boards and all boards. So hello again.

 

I find my evil side hoping that they totally fail and lose tons of money.....

charging people for something they can get elsewhere for free is the quickest way to kill your business.

i havent really been there for more than a matter of second, quite a while ago, but i would imagine that IGN doesnt offer anything much worth paying for.

i would imagine that the charges will disappear when they realise that they will lose their business.

 

Yeah, what are they thinking? Who in their right mind would pay anything for access to a message board? People didn't even pay $5 for Napster, and that offered all the copyrighted music you can download. These dot commers are losing their minds.

i've been at a couple of sites that tried this, they both went belly up, sad but it happens. One tried a ranking system based on $, had about 6 or so ranks, teh more you pay the higher you get, but they also had free access to. Ezboards is trying that too, with the Community Supporter thing, CSC, you have an icon next to your name and such, and personalyl I have no problem with that, I wouldn't pay now, but when i get a job i would have no problem at all........although till then, its free all teh way

i dont think i would be happy giving my credit card details out to a board server that is trying to hit people up for cash. doesnt sound so secure.

I agree i think they are gonna regret this move in a few months.

I kinda want to see them fail as well. I know it is kinda mean to say that, but what are they thinking.

Anyway, I believe you can pay with a credit card, PayPal, or send a check. I'm not sure, though.
