I've still yet to see Twin Peaks. It's been on my list for years, and years, and years. This seems like a good reason to finally watch it.

I agree, plus... it's Lynch/Frost again. It's not like *cough*George Lucas*cough*. David Lynch has struck gold over, and over, and over again. I am tremendously optimistic.

Really?? You are going to fall in love.

You know, I've come across a few Peaks fans over the years who swore that Lynch and Frost were going to honor that cryptic "25-year chewing gum" reference, and hot dog, they were right!

I'm not even much of a Lynch fan myself, and the revelation sends chills down my spine. In respect to seismic Nerd News headlines, this is actually crazier than either of the Prequel/Sequel announcements.

Seriously. Do it. For two main reasons. One, you'll finally see what are the pop culture references are about.... ie "Damn fine coffee...etc..." But what is probably a BILLION times more important is that you'll experience the rich universe that is Twin Peaks- Josie Packard, Audrey Horne, Harry Truman, Deputy Hawk, and the Bookhouse Boys, and Rosenfield and Cole...and you'll be like "you know, this is a series that so so rich in atmosphere and characterization, and all anyone does is go around quoting the backwards talking thing. Which is a signature of the show, but it's so much more.

Something I thought about BOB and company being recast:

Huge "Peak Head" here, having seen all the series in it's original broadcast release back in the day, the FMMW movie in the theater in '92, and got the DVD Gold boxed set on the day of release (not planning on getting the Blu set, since I already have the Gold set, which was already somewhat pricey).

I don't have a lot of interest in the 2016 renewal/re-visit to the series, though I will tune in since I'm such a huge fan. I just don't have much interest in seeing these characters so much older....Note some have passed on, notably the Major Briggs & Bob actors...

This is from last week's episode of Agent Carter:

I think he'd make an excellent new avatar of BOB.

    Or...

Recall that in the finale, in the Black Lodge, a dark-haired Leland Palmer told Agent Cooper " I didn't kill anybody." [face_thinking]

I don't know Blur. This has 2 wonderful things going for it.

1)It's a limited episode series, so there shouldn't be too much of the fluff that doomed the show in its original 2nd season.
2)The episodes will be written by Frost and directed by Lynch. Win and win.

Twin Peaks was on during a time in my life when I didn't own a television, and I've never had a chance to check out what all the fuss was.

Jabba, I too got the Gold Box set not too long ago and rewatched the series. It most certainly has held up over time, or in my opinion, as I mentioned in a previous discussion about this, I think Twin Peaks is perfectly timeless. For the most part, it isn't time stamped like other shows (besides little things here and there.)

If you have never seen it, you still should be able to watch it and take it in, at least the first 17 episodes. After that, Lynch and Frost scaled back their involvement so it does get a bit dicey and is more for more dedicated fans. But I think you would enjoy it.

I hope so too. I think Lynch was besotted with her so she should be back.

The best part of Fire Walk With Me is that it showed what a great actress Sheryl Lee was. Seriously, if it wasn't because her talent was such a surprise to everyone involved we would've never had this movie.
