UPDATE OCTOBER 10, 2020--Spider-Man 2099 is done so now I have done all 151! This picture is now complete, it will not be updated further. But don't be sad that it ended, be happy that it happened!

UPDATE AUGUST 17, 2019--Now with Steel Spider I've hit character 125, so since I updated this the last time I added 25 new characters I felt it was about time to update this picture again. So now it's up to 125 character entries! This will be the last update before the final one--only twenty-five more characters before we hit the end goal of 150!

UPDATE JULY 28, 2018--With the completion of Anti-Venom I've hit one-hundred total characters, so with that milestone I've decided to update the original seventy-five character collage to include the first one-hundred character entries. That's a lot of characters! It's getting pretty crowded now, but this is still just two-thirds of the way through the project--like I originally mentioned, I am going to do one-hundred fifty total, so there's still a long road ahead!

Original description:

So I was finishing up Speed Demon the other day when I realized that he was actually the halfway point* through the entire Spider-man project.

(give or take, I may end up adding or subtracting some, and this isn't counting Extras)

Yeah, I'm crazy--I have one hundred and fifty of these dang character entries I want to do. Will I actually finish them? Maybe. We'll see. I hope to.

Speed Demon was number seventy-five, which was actually around where I wanted to stop when I first conceptualized this project, but it kept ballooning in scope until it ended up at the far off goal it currently is. While there is still a ways to go, I wanted to upload this collage of all of the character entries I've done so far as a milestone marker (though with only one of Spider-man's costumes on there, it looked too repetitive with the other two Spider-man costumes I've done).

Seventy-five character entries, though there are a few more than seventy-five characters on here due to the Enforcers, Alistair Smythe's Spider Slayers, and Cloak and Dagger. And of course I guess there are some people on there twice (like Peter Parker and Spider-man are both on there).

Odyssey is an intimidating skin line to be part of because of the really high standards of the older pieces but it was really fun to do a colorful sci-fi scene this time.

In the thumbnail stage. I struggled with the low angle a bit. I used an app called MagicPoser and aligned it to my sketch to help me figure out my errors at first then Mingchen's sketch made it a lot better with the foreshortened hand. At first I tried a color scheme that was close to Odyssey Jinx but eventually they approved something more blue. I was experimenting with a lighting without a rim light and I'm glad they chose this.

When rendering, the hardest parts were the hat, and the face area. His scarf is covering too much of his face so we had to cheat it a bit to show more. I actually drew his whole face underneath just to make sure the anatomy is correct and for fun. I also tried to squeeze in as much easter eggs in the bg as I can. For the ships, I used Lazy Nezumi's fish eye guidelines to help me.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Did you know that the Breast Cancer ribbon is pink
because it represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses who publicly support the breast cancer movement.
This ribbon is also intended to provide solidarity with women who currently have breast cancer. I would highly recommend that if you buy Breast Cancer memorabilia that you buy it from a source that supports Breast Cancer research and patients.

Other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Each year in the U.S., more than 250,000 women get breast cancer and 42,000 women die from the disease. (All of this information, is sourced from the CDC).

Most breast cancers are found in women who are 50 years old or older, however, it also affects younger women. I've had my own breast cancer scare before, thankfully it was just a benign tumor that I had removed. I am thankful that I was able to get checked and prevent any damage that could have affected my body. I am extremely lucky as a black woman. Breast cancer is more likely to be found at an earlier stage among white women than among black women.

Breast cancer dates are also 40% higher among black women than white women. So please if you have the option get mammograms or even do a self-check at home. I was in my 30's when I had my scare and my daughter who was 16 at the time had to get a mammogram too.

Please stay safe, stay educated, and donate to charities if you can. Check out these websites for more information.
