Ash was raised by a small community of monks that took her in when she was only 8 years of age. She was taught their philosophies and defensive marshal arts, but Ash always had a rebellious side that made her a difficult student. She liked relying on her talent to fight rather than hard work, besting everyone in her age group despite her lack of discipline. At the age of 19, a pack of bandits infiltrated their village in the night and began to steal their food and anything they thought would be of value. Ash intercepted them with rage, her hands glowing with flame. She fought them off almost single handedly, causing them to flee, except for one badly injured bandit. She almost enjoyed seeing him crawl across the ground pathetically. The elder monks shouted to her to leave him be, and that they should take him in until he is able to leave himself. She was furious at their logic, her flames burned bright and she took him by the scalp and set him ablaze. The monks watched in shock and silence. The next morning she was banished. For years she's been seeking out the bandits that did this to her.

I've been watching a fair bit of the Wahammer fan material on youtube and the idols on StringStorm's channel were rather fun and got me thinking of who the Chaos Idols could have been, Lotara seemed obvious, and an excuse to draw my take on the character after the Horus Heresy again.

I'm of the opinion that she later became the Conqueror, some opinions are that the entity that seemed to be possessing the ship would never allow a mere human to take control, while i think that the entity was in fact Lotara herself, what she will become. Given that warp entities tend to ignore the restraints of time there is no reason that it couldnt be her future self preparing her own existence.

Original fantasy painting inspired by autumn and its warm colors. She is an autumn spirit/fairy, and one can see her mostly when the sun has started to set and paints the autumn leaves even more vibrant red. Her calming presence draws the wild animals towards her, so they often accompany her.

I started this one in autumn, but my PC broke down and I was also really busy with my studies, so I only managed to paint this here and there for some time. I was waiting for the holidays so much so that I could finish this. So this kind of felt like a forever project, but I didn't want to rush this either.

I kind of painted this illustration to accompany my last original piece, Mielikki, as it was inspired by the lush greens of summer, so naturally the next one was inspired by autumns warm and flaming reds, yellows and oranges. Again I wanted to challenge myself and add animals to accompany the character. I really spent time on her dress/accessories as well. I rarely have been painting with reds, so I wanted to make this quite warm in color palette. Not sure if went a bit too warm with color palette though, but maybe I will fix things if needed after I have taken a break from this and can take a look at this with fresh eyes.

I actually struggled quite a lot with this painting, but I'm happy I still pushed through and tried my best. Even though I feel I could always keep painting and adjusting and I am never satisfied with the end result, I think I need to let this go already.

This was indeed a whim. It started out as just a sketch inspired by a bright red autumn leaf I found while walking off my college campus It looked like a wing..... and I love fairies.... so I suddenly really wanted to draw an autumn fairy with leaf wings :3
