Discipline master 30k by AnBoX on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
A Discipline Master was a specialist often utilised by some Imperial Army regiments during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy eras of the 30th and early 31st Millennia. These stern task masters were responsible for maintaining discipline within the regiment to which they were assigned. They were also responsible for tracking down Imperial Army deserters that repudiated their oaths to the Emperor of Mankind and shirked their soldierly responsibilities.

Discipline Masters were known to use hunting eagles to help them track their prey. Their fanatical dedication to the service of the Emperor overrode any feelings of compassion, mercy or humanity when carrying out the summary executions of those found wanting, for which they employed a ceremonial Electro-scythe.

The Discipline Master proved to be the precursor to the Commissars of the Officio Prefectus who now serve with every regiment of the Astra Militarum, the descendant of the Imperial Army following the Reformation of the Imperium after the Horus Heresy.

Nagash vs Teclis by thevampiredio on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
"And so you come at last" the God of Undeath spoke without turning. hands still buried in the stone of Avalanor. as if the mountains are made of clay.
"you can stop all this! even now." said Teclis "it will not go well for you otherwise"
"everything but Nagash himself must end" "even you godling."

epic battle of god of death Nagash vs Teclis the god of light. from the broken realm Teclis book. warhammer : Age of Sigmar.

i've always wanted to draw Nagash. but was hesitant. but now after reading. or more accurately... being read by youtuber 2+tough: www.youtube.com/watch?v=36spqI…

The Infinite Sea by AlanGutierrezArt on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
This was the third cover art from the "Chaos Chronicles" series from Jeffery Carver (the others are "Neptune Crossing" and "Strange Attractors" in this gallery), published in 1995, by Tor Books.

I don't fully recall the story, but, as with all Jeff Carver's work, there was an abundance of soaring, cosmic, hard science, giving the reader a lot to think about.

In order to get this image, I had to scan the book and digitally remove the type. The art, and transparency have been long gone, but it's about 95% accurate to the original, done with gouache and acrylic on masonite.

Unused version from the book by Jeffery Carver, commissioned by Tor Books 1995.

    This forgotten version of the finished cover;

    www.deviantart.com/alangutierr…

was found as a photograph only 100 pixels wide, and so I had to redo the whales digitally using the original traditional background.

This was my first idea... I'd had some success with using whales before, in covers such as "Prince Of Whales" and, "Space Swimmers", but it was rejected-now presented here for the first time.

Part of the "Chaos Chronicles" of hard sci-fi ideas- an abundance of soaring, cosmic effects, giving the reader a lot to think about...
