    It's been a while since I posted anything art related due to being uninspired and just plain lazy but creating art is more than just being inspired, it's also about self discipline. So here it goes, another pastel painting featuring this friendly neighbourhood Blue Jay.

    I wanted to create a series of pastel paintings showing this blue little guy surrounded by our 4 seasons.

    Used Rembrandt, Schmincke & Sennelier soft pastels, along with pastel pencils from Conte, Faber-Castell, Generals & Stabilo on Pastelmat, 12 x 15.5 (30 x 40 cm).

    Notes: A semi-aquatic fish folk Nixie possesses both fish- and amphibian-like traits. Biologically, Nixies are decedents of Gobiidae fish with a highly specialized respiratory system supporting their congenial existence on land. As organs of pulmonary respiration, blisters are opening on the ventral side of the esophagus, allowing the bipedal fish to exist in oxygen-depleted bodies of water and walk safely on land for a protracted period; nonetheless, Nixies almost always sleep in their small underwater chambers constructed from sludge and algae. Nixies are great tree-climbers; thanks to this ability, they collect various fruits for food, mainly for breakfast.

    ALBAZ (GOLDEN ELF)

    Notes: Albaz were given the title of Golden Elf by humans since their hair color almost always has golden (blond) coloration. The facial features are delicate and elegant, with the exhibition of big feline-like eyes with slit pupils common among all elven races. Elven women are portrayed very differently compared to the representations of females in human society. Elven females take mostly leading roles in the community due to biological dimorphism between men and women, making the latter usually more active, aggressive, and quite masculine. Female elves are quite hot-tempered and often resort to brute force, unlike males, who often spend days in the general public doing household chores and art. Golden elves are polygamous, and although females can boast about several husbands, there is no specific traditional culture of marriage showcased within elven society. Most elves can enter into sexual union with representatives of the opposite or same-sex at certain moments of their life. That is, they do not have an official marriage, allowing individuals to periodically, depending on a certain time of the year or a certain age, date, or substantiate a family with one or multiple spouses without concluding any official documents. The elven man has the chance to pursue heterosexual romantic involvement according to the female's choice; if she disregards him as a love interest, he cannot influence her to continue the relationship as it can be considered a law violation. Nonetheless, on the other hand, males are deprived of such privilege and cannot refuse a woman without bureaucratic enrollment. Thereby, elves are fixated with the male athletic body and deify it as a paragon of nature to attract as many partners as possible. After reaching adulthood, elven men usually highlight their physical relief by denuding the chest or abdomen. Their clothes are often minimalistic and often emphasize femininity rather than the masculinity of the androgynous elven male, unlike in human culture.

    Metalmen are the creation of Golden Elves, which are mechanically engineered artificial vessels containing a spirit within, designed to serve their overlords. Spirits utilized for this purpose are usually less cognitive than those that possess mages; thus, they cannot act with free will.

    Notes: Sylvan elves often keep chaotically curly hair short. As a rule, elves are considered gorgeous, with the exhibition of dark skin merging with the trunks of trees. They have exceptionally long pointed ears and long six fangs (cuspids). Sylvan elves are very flexible and fast. This helps them not only to survive but also to use their skills in the art of buccaneering and robbery. El’dars nourish a keen interest in all kinds of adventures, wagers, and gambling. The elven menu consists mainly of insects and other small animals like turtles and frogs; because of their addiction to exotic dishes (poisonous snakes and toxic bugs), noxious saliva forms inside elf mouths can be perilous for other races - hence the name Elf's Death Kiss. Subsequently, their blood also becomes toxic.

    Notes: The dwarf elves are commonly known for their extraordinary facial features that at any age retain the soft characteristic of children. However, this changes drastically as the pygmy reaches the verge of 50 years old. They have big eyes and long pointed ears. Unlike most elves, pygmies are less aggressive and short in stature. For a long period, pygmies were thought to be a completely unrelated species to elves; recent studies indicate that they are actually not just a different race of an elf but are just a subrace of Golden elves.

    Notes: Dwarves, like their relatives - Ogres, originally came to Oominor from Earth 39 right after the arrival of elves and humans. Stocky and hairy, Dwarves are characterized by long pointy ears, dark blue or gray skin, short torso with short limbs, yet despite their physical construction, the dwarf race is marked by extreme natural strength. Dwarves are capable of primitive echolocation, creating a clicking din with teeth and lips picking up reflected noises with the susceptible ears, allowing them to hear sounds that humans and even elves can miss.


    GOBLIN

    Notes: Goblins evolved from the wingless Chiroptera order. They have a slender and thin hairless body with extremely short and humanoid conical muzzles adorned by a nose leaf.

    Notes: Unlike Goblins, Kobolds are almost completely blind due to their accustomed existence in gigantic cave labyrinths. However, their enormous ears substitute eyes. Kobolds utilize echolocation as the primer source of sense, helping them to move in complete darkness. This species completely lacks the concept of color and visual art (except sculptures). Still, they share information by carved symbols inscribed in stones, boulders, clay tablets that can be perceived by reflected the sound over them. In other words, they read through echolocation, making their language one of the most unique presented in Oominor. Sadly, kobolds cannot read a written text and communicate with other races primarily verbally.


    KARKINOS

    Notes: The Karkinos are a sentient crayfish species that usually dwell in the deepest rivers. Despite their animalistic appearance, the Karkinos are seen to be highly developed in terms of technology. Another notable feature of the race is their extremely beauteous vox, and this may be why sometimes the Karkinos are confused with beautiful singing Rusalka.


    BLEMMYAE/BLEMAAYAE

    Notes: Huge anthropomorphic Brachyura with the head expanding towards the chest area due to this factor the species believed to be headless having eyes and mouths protruding from their chests. The race lives in symbioses with humans - Atlants.

    EMPUSA

    Similarity to Earth Culture: Isan people

    Notes: The Empusa is a gregarious species of insectoid critters descended from the Dictyoptera superorder. They are usually green colored, yet, some possess hues that vary from white to yellow. Although they resemble mantis in appearance, most studies indicate that race is more related to cockroaches. Like Skinned Insects – Bubilas and Centaur, the Empusa convergently evolved some sort of gill-like slits on the forearms and secondary trachea in the form of a lung to absorb more oxygen. The race is the most religious of all in Oominor, dedicating whole life worshiping spirits and building colossus temples.


    BUNYIP

    Notes: The species is covered with dense brown fur, which is waterproof and helps the creature to trap air bubbles that can be used to prolong the underwater diving.

    Living Style: Tribal, Solitary, Parasitic

    Similarity to Earth Culture: Hedonism

    Notes: Dryad is a species of sapient angiosperms with leaves covering the flesh made of fused nets of the node. The dryad is usually illustrated as a humanoid being; however, the original exoskeleton resembles a mobile crab-like plant as they hatch out of seeds. After a year or two, dryads can mentally control the appearance of their body, shaping it into something resembling the species they find the most suitable to over which they can parasitize – humans and elves are common targets. Dryad deliberately makes people fall in love with them (how it happens is still unknown). Regardless of the human gender, they lay an egg-like seed inside the human. Sequentially, during the path of maturation, the seed shoots out of the body (primarily from the oral area) without harming the host. The cycle can continue till the host or dryad passes away from old age since the sapient plants are “monogamous” and stick to the chosen incubator till the end.


    BUGGANE

    Notes: Buggane is a race of huge and robust, usually hairless (may change according to the race) swine. Unlike their relatives – wild boars, the sentient race’s snout is short (almost completely humanoid) and is strengthened by a disk of cartilage at the tip, forming a plowshare nose.


    VANARA

    Classification: Primate, Old World Monkey

    Similarity to Earth Culture: Tibetan nomads and monks and mixture of Chinese common culture

    Notes: Vanara, alongside Humans, Elves, Bakeneko, Bubilas, is the most common sentient species residing in Oominor. Like most humanoid species, the creature stands upright but tends to be slightly shorter than average humans; however, some races of Vanara can even dwarf an elf. There are various races of Vanara; some of them showcase short hair covering the whole body others tend to have highly long locks. The Vanara is known for being both spiritually calm and insane race. Nonetheless, the species is most famed for creating the most common religion in Oominor – Spiritualism that resembles Shinto, Buddhism, and Ancient Greek Polytheism.


    KALAROO/DROPBEAR

    Classification: Marsupial, Wombat

    Diet: Primarily Carnivorous

    Lifespan: Around 26 – 30 years

    Living Style: Tribal

    Language: Common Tongue, Sakidanian

    Gender Status: Equal

    Famous Cuisine: Emuroo in bushfood broth

    Similarity to Earth Culture: Indigenous Australians

    Notes: By and large, Kalaroos are humanoid marsupials with grey short fur and huge eyes that ironically are not related to Koalas but Wombats. Unlike their stocky ancestors, Kalaroos are graceful and vigorous, probably due to the carnivorous feeding behavior.


    KAPPA

    Notes: The Kappa has leathery skin with tiny scales that grow larger on the shoulders and head. Kappas occupy a considerable portion of Oominor, with their main camps usually located within swamps and ponds.

    Notes: Being a sentient species of an elephant family, the Gaja is known for formatting the honey created by rabbit-bees into the finest mead known in Oominor.

    Notes: Vodyanoy is a semi-aquatic amphibian race with oval bulging eyes allowing some form of infravision in muddy waters and complete darkness. The species is commonly found in the swamps of Berik but can migrate to other countries according to the season.

    LIMNAD

    Living Style: Clans, Small groups or Solitary, Unknown for certain

    Language: Rachna, it is unknown if Limnad have their own language

    Gender Status: Hermaphrodite

    Famous Cuisine: Crocodile head in frozen honey

    Similarity to Earth Culture: Soft Hedonism

    Notes: Limnads are remarkably mysterious humanoid species of fungus, known to be able to befriend wild bees that are kept inside them. In gratitude, the insects eject the host’s foes from their territories. Though Limnads can be found in small groups roaming on land, there is a theory that the majority of them dwell underground within huge cities connected through tunnels. The idea became popular after scientists uncovered that most fungi from Earth 5 (native world of Limnad) transmigrated belowground to avoid toxins produced by an alliance of different nations thousands of years ago to fight the threat of ecological catastrophe the alien mushroom held.


    HARPY

    Notes: Harpy is a massive anthropomorphic pterosaur with the humerus located higher and closer to the dorsal area. The jaws of Harpy are extremely short and pointed at the end, almost needle-sharp.


    GARGON/GORGON/LAMIA/ECHIDNA

    Classification: Squamata, Varanidae

    Famous Cuisine: Eye balls stuffed in fish

    Similarity to Earth Culture: Ancient Indian culture

    Notes: Gorgons, better known as Lamia, are species of the same genus that share their genetic spot with Nagas. Although Lamia looks harmless as they are considered calm species and rarely express aggression, the species is quite fatal for their prey or unwanted encounters. Echidnas will attack on sight using their eyes to lead the wrongdoer into a stupor, then latching on to it and secreting acid-like venom, which burns through their foe rapidly. Despite the serpentine appearance, both Lamia and Naga are decedents of monitor lizards that convergently evolved, resembling snakes.


    NAGA

    GEOGRAPHY

    Some people believe that the word Oominor originates from Rachana (Rachna) language, meaning Earth. Others give credence to the idea that the word is an outcome merge of two words Ami and Noor. Ami was the first mage from the Bakeneko race and Noor the first spirit that bounded with him for a lifetime.

    Being an alternative version of Earth, Oominor, also known as Material Realm, is a world with a moon twice more gigantic, yet twice farther than the regular; moreover, it’s probably inhabited by organic life. This moon creates high tides eroding the Earth and creating more drastic shapes and forms in Oominor. The climate is wetter and warmer than on Earth, making it closer to the Cretaceous ambiance, resulting in high eustatic sea levels creating shallow inland seas and numerous islands scattered alongside four continents: Highland, Trianderia, Pearl, and Koorandill.

    Oominor is notorious for its vast canyons creating natural borders for most countries aiding during the wars by preventing troops from crossing frontiers. Most of these canyons, abandoned by rivers, turned into musty swamps with blobs of toxic gases secreted by sentient underground fungi.


    FLORA AND FAUNA

    Most plant forms and animals, including sentient species like humans and elves, are introduced to Oominor, traveled through the Border World from different realms and versions of Earth. Invaders make about 60 percent of Oominor’s population, exterminating the native flora and fauna to the extinction. The continents and islands of Oominor are abounded by a multitude of decedents of dinosaurs, different species of dragons, plants with self-awareness, and giant mammal-like insects covered in skin.



    CONTRIES OF OOMINOR

    Nowadays, Oominor is divided into 28 countries governed by different races and species that, despite the hallmarks, share cultural and political structures.

    1. Lousam – Capital City: Vafu, Most Common Ethnicity: Human (Dosud). Lousam is the oldest extant human nation and was the first region liberated from the influence of the Elven Imperium (Eshadell) and resembles Italy, Spain, and Greece in its architecture. Since Lousam is the only human country that deliberately mimics elven architecture and culture, most of the land is still filled with colossal marble buildings erected by elven architects. Lousam’s government exhibits Oligarchic Democracy with Elective Monarchy, as the richest king of the Lousam’s provinces is elected to rule for a while.

    2. Balakia and Elaindar – Capital City: Amael, Most Common Ethnicity: Blemmyae and Human (Atlant). Balakia and Elaindar is a country with full democracy that illustrates the Greek paradisiacal picture of a mythical Elysium Fields and Atlantis.

    3. Kidar – Capital City: Lübech, Most Common Ethnicity: Human (Baum). A country with Constitutional Monarchy where leadership is performed by Chancellor Kidar is the eminent partner of Lousam, both forming a military alliance. The architecture of Kidar mimics Romanesque style with the addition of Budapest Secession, Rococo, and Victorian Architecture with dark puritanical colors. Kidar encompasses a largely uninhabited forest wilderness inhabited by nomadic sylvan elves. The northern lands of Kidar are dominated by mangrove swamps, forested peaks, and emerald valleys.

    4. Ogreand – Capital City: Gras’hul, Most Common Ethnicity: Ogre. Ogreand exhibits Gothic French, Rococo, and Bulgarian Vernacular architecture with steampunk-like buildings constructed from dark stones. Most citizens wear conservative yet luxurious clothing mimicking French 17 and 18th-century garments with art-nouveau finery, usually giving preference to black color.

    5. Hayrins – Capital City: Hull or Havin, Most Common Ethnicity: Human (Vorkon). With the Nordic ambiance and subarctic climate, Hayrins is an island country set in the northern part of Highland, believed initially to be the homeland of the extinct race Khamerian. The Hayrinians are known for their fascinating garments used by males and females, both showcasing various colorful skirts with miscellaneous guipure.

    6. Eshadell Imperium – Capital City: Kiliad, Most Common Ethnicity: Elf (Golden Elf/Albaz). Eshadell or Elven Imperium is by far the largest country set in Oominor, once governing the whole world hundreds of years ago. Although officially the native land of Golden Elves is considered the empire, it is orchestrated by the Elective Monarchy. The Imperator is elected by the Eshadellian Assemblies and can be easily overthrown because of the complete seizure of power. The Eshadellian lands are sheathed by monumental construction made of white marble, reminding a Neoclassical and Art-Nouveau style with futuristic classic Roman and Greek architecture.

    7. Berxley/the Kingdom of Berxley – Capital City: Berx-Mas-Rat, Most Common Ethnicity: Dwarf. Berxley is the most northern kingdom of Oominor, usually covered in snow and glacier. The dwarven cities mimic Gothic Victorian and Nordic steampunk architecture.

    8. URP/The United Republican Provinces – Capital City: Neverspell, Most Common Ethnicity: Elf, Human, Ogre, Bakeneko, etc. The United Republican Provinces, occupying the Trianderia continent completely, is the second-largest country in Oominor with the most powerful nation, second only to Eshadell. The URP is famed for its Late Dutch Renaissance and early 19th and 20th-century clothing mixed 1970s Swedish post-modern fashion and primarily Colonial Architecture. Originally the Trianderia was settled by first colonizers like Empusa and Zahhak; however, in the subsequent time, it was colonized by Elves. Only with the arrival of humans and ogres, the elven colony on Trianderia came to an agreement to liberate themselves from the rule of Eshadell, transforming the continent into a new country that welcomed all emigrates from all lands of Oominor, making The United Republican Provinces the most multicultural territory.

    9. Hasuah/The Federation of Hasuah Alliance – Capital City: Seff, Most Common Ethnicity: Zahhak. Hasuah is tropical land impregnated by morass and governed exclusively by mages.

    10. The Republic of Cheusasaw – Capital City: Mork, Most Common Ethnicity: Empusa. This country is largely covered in tropical forest wilderness and mangrove swamps in northern lands. Semi-sovereign regions of the Selkie race mostly govern the coasts. Citizens of this country prefer wearing usually long loincloths with sash and fine linen overshift with almost exclusively blue hues.

    11. Bogsan – Capital City: Pema, Most Common Ethnicity: Bakeneko. The Bogsan’s geography famously varies widely from Mediterranean warm lands and savannah to snow-covered and mountainous regions. Though plutocratic nation, Bogsan is the most spiritual kingdom where the government is led by a chosen priest who rules Bogsan till retirement or death. Bakeneko in Bogsan is dressed chiefly in lightweight layers of revealing clothes made from silk and bamboo strands.

    12. Sakida – Capital City: Sadidas, Most Common Ethnicity: Human (Saam). Sakida is the human kingdom composed of several islands with Japanese and Korean Vernacular Architecture.

    13. Yudaai – Capital City: Kum/Kuum, Most Common Ethnicity: Vanara. Yudaai exhibits rear governmental structure – Social Democracy with hybrid autocracy. Yudaai is mainly regarded by some demographers as the safest country in the world, elaborated by Vanara's extreme pacifism. Most of Yudaai's cities and towns are hidden away atop mountain ranges and rocky cliffs, making them highly arduous to invade.

    14. Nixin – Capital City: Kistium, Most Common Ethnicity: Nixie. Being the homeland of amphibious nixies, the semi-submerged cities of Nixin are located only on the costliness, making the inner lands of the country uninhabited, filled with wilderness and wastelands.

    15. Qualin/The Grand Duchy of Qualin – Capital City: Dunken, Most Common Ethnicity: Gorgon. Qualin's location makes it a center for trade in the southern hemisphere of Oominor, transforming the country into one of the richest areas.

    16. Ikolomany – Capital City: Spangoumans, Most Common Ethnicity: Juji. Ikolomany is dominated by the Juji race; however, the land is also known for being a home for the Karkinos race.

    17. Republic of Ufari/Nowani – Capital City: Nowani, Most Common Ethnicity: Naga. Mainly populated by Naga, Nowani is known for being the second safest country in Oominor.

    18. Shagrat – Capital City: Tiumf/Triumf, Most Common Ethnicity: Bubilas. Shagrat is one of the most alien lands strewn by multiple volcanoes and the valleys formed of black soil. Shagrat is an island country where the main island, officially known as Lacrimosa, makes up 99 percent of the kingdom. A caste system governs Shagrat with a Clannish Sexist Monarchy with Flowered System and semi-democratic Regime for females and an Authoritarian Regime for males. The main cities generate industrious buildings with organic and wax hive-cities, some settlements carved inside canyons and mountains.

    19. Skeybar – Capital City: Pshahajit, Most Common Ethnicity: Gaja. This country is famed by Huge stoned constructions carved by Gaja into rocky cliffs and hills.

    20. Grey Night's Commonwealth – Capital City: Gualax, Most Common Ethnicity: Goblin, Kobold. Grey Night's Commonwealth, or commonly simply the Commonwealth, is home to surface-dwelling Goblins and Kobolds, the latter roam catacombs connected by tunnels. About 50 percent of the Commonwealth's population buried in underground labyrinths mirroring the cities on superficies.

    21. Berik – Capital City: Valka, Most Common Ethnicity: Human Slauw (Shulk and Bel’ars). Berik is the largest country ruled by the Human race lying northeast of Eshadell Imperium. The government of the country is powered by Veche, which in its structure resembles the Roman Senate. Knyaz (in some counties of Berik named Ataman) fulfills the role of the supreme commander who is in charge of the Shulk city-states. Valka showcase a vast variety of architecture reflecting Russian Wooden and Baroque styles with a mixture of late Byzantine Architecture. Small houses mimic Ukrainian and Polish Vernacular Architecture. Humans of Berik wear Slavic clothing of Ancient Ukrainian, Czech and Polish fashion, with a composition of early 20th-century Russian shirts; however, Shulk Slauws display more primitive sewn robes.

    22. Enti’karn – Capital City: Ristichegz, Most Common Ethnicity: Elwetritsch. Enti’karn is a huge republican country with a primarily uncharted region of densely lush growing fir-trees in the south and glacier deserts on the north.

    23. Telmore Republic – Capital City: Empisah, Most Common Ethnicity: Karura. The Telmore Republic is a land that is praised by cooks growing cinnamon-bamboo, basil-lily, and nutmeg. The country’s cuisine is glaringly developed to the highest level, and every cook dreams of studying or at least a season to work in the Telmore Republic. Karuras wear a painted collar, knotted waist-sash, and red bracelets.

    24. Lo Kabane – Capital City: Irond, Most Common Ethnicity: Buggane. Mainly populated by Buggane, Lo Kabane is a country of pirates and mercenaries.

    25. Akja – Capital City: Ucobra, Most Common Ethnicity: Elf (Sand Elf or Lutin). Lying southwest of Eshadell Imperium, this country is dominated by the Sand Elves, making it the second-largest elven land. Akja is a massive region covered by vast mountain ranges, marshlands, grasslands, and hot deserts. The architecture of this land reflects Indian and Persian constructions. The Akja people cover themselves with Arabic and Indian silk robes, brocaded tunic, and woven silk antariya; however, the majority of younglings can walk completely naked.

    26. Be’khir – Capital City: Oli, Most Common Ethnicity: Human (Butanari). Be’khir is extremely similar to Akja in both culture and architecture.

    GLOBAL CULTURE



    · Globally, Oominor entered some sort of industrial era; however, despite the development of Oominor, firearms are extremely primitive and often not used in battles, instead, the army usually resorts to swordfight and magic (which is less expensive to obtain with a display of millions of experienced mages in Oominor).

    · Oominor's technology uses ridium (energy stone created during the openings of the portals to the Border World). Ridium is rare and expensive and primarily utilized in very specific industries.

    · Oominor has a cable car system in big cities (similar to trams of San-Francisco) and even electricity. Though the latter one is extremely rare due to the obligatoriness of ridium. Mobile cars are still not invented.

    · The common architecture of Oominor mostly copies classical Roman and Greek style with the annex of Baroque and even Art-Nouveau.

    · The fashion, Oominorians prefer wearing globally, mimics renaissance, classical Roman and Greek, and 1970s style.



    SOCIETY

    Though the culture can differ drastically in Oominor from country to country, for over 300 years, the whole world was governed by Elven Imperium that heavily influenced other nation’s architecture and society. After the decadence of the empire and loss of some regions, the liberated countries continued to mimic the extravagant elven culture. The most notorious of cultural similarity is the traditions of elven leisure and entertainment.


    SPORTS AND GAIETY

    Dueling is one of the most erratic and extreme forms of the game in Oominor, usually typical among the nobility that follows the trend of The Code of Honor. Although the dueling is not always associated with the opponent's death, the formal concept of the duel in Oominor invokes both males and females challenging the foe with a saber, magic, martial arts, and other forms of weaponry. The combat cannot be accepted if one of the opponents is the mage and the other one is not, as it suppressed by a fine or the death penalty depending on the country. An opponent who was challenged to a duel may refuse, but in the eyes of society, he will remain a coward and may be fired from his job or become an outcast in his city. However, despite this, the duelist, who is often sinned by inviting to combat every person he encounters, can also be arrested for excessively encouraging aggression and cruelty.

    The other form of amusement common among the Oominorians is the magic acrobatic, where a mage illustrates his talents like agility, motor coordination, and contortionism. The performer uses his magical powers to enhance the physical flexibility and circus acts with the addition of the magical spectacle.

    Though most common among humans, Pitchball (resembles a combination of soccer, baseball, and basketball) is one of the most beloved games in Oominor, which is often played with annual matches during summer seasons. During such competitions, mages are usually forbidden to participate in the sport. However, today negotiations are underway whether it is possible for the mages to participate or not to restrain their abilities and be tested before each game.


    MUSIC, LITERATURE AND CULINARY

    Music plays a massive role in the lives of Oominorians, and almost every event, like championships, holiday feasts, etc., is accompanied by musical staging. In every possible way, poem concerts, theatrical performances are a mandatory attribute for Oominorians that can transform into annual song and reading contests, the most well-known of which is the Festival of Voice. There are two versions of the fete – the summer festival and winter. The Summer Festival of Voice is organized annually by Eshadell, featuring participants representing their countries or tribes performing a song or music related to their culture. During the winter, performers submit their poems or short essays they read in front of an audience. Traditionally, the festival is held in the country's capital city, which won the preceding year's event.

    The culinary specialist is one of the most prestigious professions in Oominor; often, culinary delights such as tomato beer and foie gras from ammonite are classic indicators of high culture manufactured by noble houses. Taverns and restaurants are always packed with different guests eager to taste the most unusual new dishes of different chefs who compete with each other.


    ARCHITECTURE AND FASHION

    Oominor, being home to a multitude of sentient species, possess a wide variety of different architectural builds and fashion ranging from the various nations and races using sundry materials to construct edifices, such as corals, marble, ice, mud, stone, metal, plants, bones, etc. Though the diversity between buildings is visible, the majority of globalized cities (even those that are the most alien to humans) reflect the universally accepted elven technique to erect houses. This likewise applies to the clothing of civilized Oominorians that prefer mimicking elven style. Nonetheless, in general, each nation will wear specific garments that symbolize and highlight their culture. Elven males prefer wearing evocative seminude clothing, Ogres usually wear elaborate glamorous attires, the Buggane praises a fur coat, and Bakenekos can walk completely naked.

    Though it may seem that the whole population of Oominor rejects the divine slant, religion still plays a significant role in the lives of simple folk, though mainly as a tradition rather than the spiritual route as a way to honor spirits. Many different principal objects of faith are worshiped across Oominor, with each culture and country exhibits its own pantheons of gods or idolatry. Spiritualism, or also known as Paragon Faith, is the dominant religious organization across all nations. Founded by the Vanara race, the central ideology of this religion is to respect and honor spirits that connect Oominor and The Border World, bestowing people magical powers. Spiritualism is primarily analogous to Earth’s mixture of Shinto, Buddhism, and some sort of ancient Greek polytheistic religion. The spirits and nature represent the fundamental aspect of Spiritualism: people build a multitude of shrines scattered all over the 28 countries and worship near them by meditating, trying to get in touch with spirits. Music, such as kulning, is crucial in the Paragon Faith; Oominorians believe that the song guides and cajoles spirits. Bathing is by far one of the most essential rituals through which a person reaches purification and can be eulogized by spirits. A bathhouse is some sort of divine temple that citizens visit once a week analogous to Churches. The Paragon Faith is famed for its hedonistic ideology, indicating that there is no absolute right and wrong, a person should enjoy life without interfering with the life of others.


    MARRIAGE AND VIEWS ON SEXUALITY

    The institution of marriage vastly varies from culture to culture. Elves, for example, are primarily polygamous, and women are usually those with multiple husbands; minotaurs still practice arranged marriage, and the Bubilas race does not even have that term. Same-sex marriage is not highly common outside Elven, Ogre, Human, Bakeneko, or Zahhak culture; however, all Oominorians generally do not secrete different sexual orientations and it is usually atypical for cultures to discriminate against people that come out. Eshadell Imperium is characterized as the friendliest country for homosexual people where about 99 percent of the population supports same-sex marriage; Joushax, on the other hand, is the most homophobic, where only 20 – 30 percent is pro decriminalization of homosexuality.


    SLAVERY

    Though slavery is prohibited in all regions of Oominor, some countries still unofficially practice slave labor by utilizing peculiar bureaucratic machinations. Often uncivilized races who do not have their own country and state (like Tlaloc and Bunyip) illegally become slaves.




    MAGIC, SPIRITS AND DIFFERENT REALMS

    Before elves, humans, dwarves, ogres, or even insectoid races, the Oominor was inhabited by pre-magi precursors that went extinct for an unknown reason (probably exterminated by the first invaders), leaving behind cities settled by trespassers. But all of the new sentient races that colonized the entire world were not just simple frontiersmen. Around 12 800 years before the modern era, a portal through The Border World connected to Oominor, opening a constant bridge between two realms. The Border was nothing but a route connecting Oominor with other alternative versions of Earth, opening a path to various flora and fauna, taking up Oominor's abode as their new home.

    Around 39 universes' biodiversity and 48 sentient species are known to be extant in Oominor. However, some races disappeared during the protracted timeline of Oominor's history.


    · The Precursor was a race of the original inhabitants of Oominor. The species of natives that evolved and thrived in Oominor went extinct for about 10 000 years before the arrival of the first human race. It is not sure why this civilization vanished from the surface; yet, some scholars believe that the Arachne race was the reason for Precursor’s extermination.

    · Khamerian was a race of short bipedal rodents that once inhabited the isle of Hayrins.

    · Matu-Matu was a jackrabbit-like tall race that mainly inhabited the continent of Pearl. Some rumors speculate that the species can still survive and be isolated on island chains hidden in deep forests.

    · Hapanaui was a semi-aquatic canine nation that got extinct right after the arrival of the Minotaur race. It is believed that the latter was responsible for their disappearance.

    · Phaumar or Famer was an anthropomorphic stoic hedgehog-like species that died out around 5 000 years before the modern era. It is unknown if such civilization even existed for specific as no fossils and archeological remains were found. The only proof of them once inhabiting Oominor are illustrations and texts found in Zahhak and Bakeneko scrolls.

    · Toomayoun was claimed to be a humanoid crocodile believed to have been a more robust copy of Zahhak and Karura. There is no exact data on why the species disappeared; yet, some scientists believe that a virus was a reason for their demise.


    SPIRITS AND THE BORDER WORLD

    The Border World, also known as the Spirit World, is a plane of the fourth or fifth dimension inhabited by sentient alien beings formed of pure energy, commonly known as spirits. The spirits are some sort of innocuous parasites that feed on neurological energy created by the brainpower of living organisms. For thousands of years, the spirits did not interact directly with Oominor's nations and absorbed energy produced by all kinds of critters. Sequentially, spirits found out that utilizing sentient beings for energy absorption was a better brainchild. Every 100 or 200 years, they started opening warp-holes to other dimensions, each being the alternative version of Earth where different intelligent life had a diverse ancestral background. The new races started colonizing Oominor as fast as possible. Some spirits began to possess newcomers' bodies using them as hosts, and in return, they gained the power to bend the world with the power of fifth dimensions, which Oominor people claimed to be magic.

    The Border World's leading portal usually opens in certain places lingering for thousand years, but small subsidiary portals can chaotically appear at different locations within a vague period. Such emissions of energy during the opening of outlets can create particles of photon memory - radioactive particles of photons that manifest on our reality during the release of electromagnetic impulses of the Border World. Such photons begin to conjugate with the photons of Oominor wandering into the Border World, recording the history of the specific area like a camera. Thereby, a mage, through connection to the Border World, can see the past. Such phantom particles can also form a roaming storm or a roaming anomaly, which are electrified balls of gas that appear in the territory of the observed anomalies of the Border World. Usually, they appear in a pair at the place where there is a gap connecting our dimension and the Borderline World. It is not known precisely, but it is believed that Anomalies can be reasonable since they have a clear trajectory of their hovering. The photonic particles crystallize and create a kind of energy crystal known as ridium electrifying plants and factories in Oominor.


    MAGIC AND HOW IT IS USED

    Magic, also known as Art or Spiritual Gift, is an ability to alter and directly manipulate elements of the surrounding area. Magic is driven from the energy of the spirit bonded inside the spellcaster, tapping into the power of the fourth dimension. In other words, it is the spirit that actually bends the environment, not his host. For a spirit, magic is a natural physical phenomenon like for mortal beings holding a fork in a hand, but the force of the fourth dimension is so vicarious to our reality; thus, the spirit’s simple knack is an extraordinaire occurrence. Imagine a fourth dimension manipulating our third dimension realm.

    Spirits bestow the ability of magic upon people they possess. About 30 or more percent of Oominor inhabitants are mages. It is unknown to what circumstances a spirit chooses to penetrate a specific individual. Most mages are born chaotically without a particular rule of consistency. A family of non-mages can give birth to a mage and vice versa. Some people could request a jinn (a result of a complete fusion of a spirit with a mortal) to grant them control over the environment for a short time. Magical powers are traditionally performed through the motions of hands, feet, and brisk stir of body, yet some mages are able to effectively manipulate the world with only minimal movement. Others prefer using specific tools, like staff, for better energy direction.

    Magical ability usually manifests itself at the age of 5 and reaches its full potential after reaching puberty. However, no mage will become highly talented in magical art if he will not contact the spirit that grants magical powers. During the teenage years, children are aided by Grand Magi to enter into a trance or meditation where, if successful, they can connect with their spirit. The more relationships one gets and the high friendship one reaches with the spirit, the more likely it will teach new forms of magic and help the host in the future, protecting him.
