In tonight's episode of Ancient Aliens, S16E05 "The Tulu Circle," we investigate the widespread legends of a race of shapeshifting aliens operating out of the pacific ocean in the ancient past. We'll also hear from Dr Albrecht Schochtauer, author of "The Cult of Alien Gods," and how the Space Brothers of Yuggoth relate to these legends.

I feel like if Ancient Aliens existed in the same universe as Cthulhu and all the other pre-human alien species they'd still manage to be wrong about everything. These are the people that think a gold fish figurine is a representation of an alien fighter jet after all. Not that I think they're all lairs or scammers or anything, I just think they're way too fast to try and fit any "evidence" they can to their own (fairly prosaic) interpretation of aliens.

Also I haven't watched the show in a while, does Tsoukalos still pronounce it assonaut? He has to be doing it on purpose by now.

My latest commissioned piece, featuring the master of the Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marine legion, Perturabo! There's very little artwork featuring Perturabo after his transformation into an immortal daemon prince, leaving his whole vibe kind of a mystery. I did a bit of a tamer version of the daemon prince a few years back, and was excited to go for a wilder look this time around! For this interpretation, I decided to mix the vibe of his massive, tank-like armor with the aesthetics of the chaos knights and obliterators- making him a perfect, awful mesh of mutant flesh, daemon power, and grinding war-machine! My client was interested in him looking sad and disgusted at his transformation, constantly haunted by visions of the Eye of Terror, so I included a lot of weeping eye imagery, and rendered his face down to a weeping mask jutting from the monstrous maw of his mutated flesh.

My latest commission piece, featuring my client's Iron Warriors chaos space marine character! This is actually the second piece I've done for this client of this character, the first being fittingly titled "Iron Within". Whereas the first image was meant to illustrate the astartes at the very dawn of the Horus Heresy, this new one pictures him at its close, wallowing through the carnage of the Siege of Terra. It isn't particularly often that I have the pleasure of being hired to draw the same character twice, but I loved the opportunity to both return to an old favorite and flex on how my skills have developed over the years!

My latest commission! My client wanted an illustration of a character from homebrewed Emperor's Children Chaos Space Marine war-band, with armor of luxurious silver and gold. I was excited to make an Emperor's Children piece focusing on an obsession with opulence and finery! The client requested a dark figure of statuesque beauty, but with golden cracks, revealing the corruption boiling just beneath the surface of their pristine facade.

D&D fanart, featuring one of my favorite, unsung villains, the Yugoloths! In the books, they lack much of a unifying aesthetic vibe, so a while back I drew up a big concept art sheet reimagining their look. Specifically, they're clad in moldering, infinitely ancient armor, signifying their role as immortal mercenaries. Here, we see a Yagnoloth, traditionally one of the goofiest looking Yugoloths that I tried to give a bit more dignity. As the contractors of their fiendish companies, the eloquent Yagnoloths wield false humility and fawning praise to ply their clients. The massive, gnarled claw of their left arm is barely concealed behind their cloaks, a not-so-subtle threat to those that might consider double-dealing the mercenary fiends.

Been working on a stylized version of one of my favorite D&D villain gods, Hextor, the lawful-evil god of tyranny and athleticism! Later editions essentially replaced him with Bane as the conquerer god, but Hextor always felt like he had a lot more character and depth than the B-boy, and that he was more of a figure I could imagine a culture actually worshiping. Plus, the whole mythos involving his duality and rivalry with brother, Heironeous, makes for a great, built-in conflict for any setting. In this image, Hextor appears as the conqueror of chaos, standing victorious in perfect, martial control above a dragon, a monstrous symbol of chaos and inhumanity.
