As usual, the people who suffer the most from "cancel culture" are those who don't have any wealth or power to begin with. Murray losing a movie won't matter much, he's still famous and wealthy. But the D list actors or the staff? They'll need a new job.
It's also the lowest level who are probably the most subject to this kind of abuse. It's not sexual harassment, but speaking for myself I would refuse to work with someone who talked to me like Murray has talked to people on set. Never mind that his sort of old-man-stuck-in-1976 behavior thankfully wouldn't be tolerated at my workplace to begin with.
The crew is out of a job because someone hired Murray despite his history of behavior. A thing to do would be to actually cancel these people and never hire them again so that it doesn't happen again. Anyone who hires someone who is known to behave like this is taking a major risk that their production will get shut down.
Yeah unfortunately you can't do that. In any industry. Imagine never hiring any jerk at a high level in a tech company. I agree it would be better but it's also pretty much impossible.
There are numerous great composers, musicians and artists throughout history who were not very nice people, had they not been given work due to that then humanity would have been denied a lot of its most fabulous cultural works and we'd be lesser for it. Unfortunately there are sometimes very creative people who aren't very nice to others. Though it's probably easier to put up with when it involves someone who might not be around many people Vs an actor who has to be.
The Internet mercilessly rips into JJ Abrams and Zack Snyder but apparently they're full on puppy dogs / nice people to work with.
Synder hasn't had any cast say anything bad (especially how enthusiastic they seem and how the JI cast got stuck with genuine jerk Whedon after) and Snyder came up with an elaborate smoke/flash gun/ pulley gore makeup system (instead of putting a exploding squib at the back of someone's head someone yanks a string to get splatter) for Army of the Dead to not have live wire/blanks on set and this was before the Rust shooting.
I think he's alright I look at him the same way I do an actor like John Wayne - iconic in certain roles and has a cinematic legacy, but was a **** in real life

So, sounds like Murray's trying to make amends; this is a pretty good start as statements on apologies go. https://www.avclub.com/bill-murray-addresses-being-mortal-complaint-1848864451
Bill and Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead bassist), at GD's 50th anniversary show. Dude looks absolutely fried.
So, most of the cast of That 70s Show has signed on to appear in that 90s show, except for Danny Masterson (of course). https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/th...cher-mila-kunis-wilmer-valderrama-1235254742/
Bad thing is, allegations have been made against him before. You'd have thought ABC would have thought about that before taking the risk of re-hiring him.
