Conversion: Painted in the style of my Legion of the Damned army. I ditched the rest of this kit and swapped out backpack.

    Model(s): Space Marine Landspeeder
Keyword: Pumpkin Force (halloween themed army)
Conversion: Added horsies from Dreadblade Harrows kit, replaced crew with big pile o pumpkins, lots of hay and other spookiness. [IMG] This was a FUN conversion. Also, the green, purple, and orange are all UV reactive! Oh, the pumpkins are basing material from Secret Weapon Miniatures from their "Field of Screams" line.

He looked nobel. The lion theme he seems to have fit a bit with his "pride before the fall" thing

The Astral Claws were pretty lion-themed.

    We have all the corsairs:

Now to see what they will be fighting against.

I want them, but know that my painting skills as they are now would never do them justice

You know, a bit late but funny that all the three clocks we are shown in that clip have been broken now, even if the plastic thunderhawk was a bit smaller than what people had hopped for.

Seems my wallet is going to take a real hit, since this is only made for order instead of something that will be around and I can by when I have not already damaged my wallet.

Started playing Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 last night, and oh boy, it’s a good one. Probably the best 40k strategy game I’ve played since Dawn of War back in the day. I even had a modest fleet of BFG models long ago my pals and I would have games with (it was much cheaper and easier to get into than 40k or WHFB), and I’d say this game finds the spirit of the original tabletop.

While it’s technically real-time, there are pause and slow-speed functions to make it feel somewhat turn-based as the need arises. This means that micro-management never feels overburdened, even at a high difficulty. All the ship models are lovely and there’s a decent slate of slide-show cutscenes to fill out some story, with all the over-the-top voice acting one would expect from 40k. Highly recommend.

Looks to me like a new model is slated to be in the 9e Tyranid Codex:

The Parasite of Mortrex, from 5e (Lexicanum site)

And a pic that was on the GW site momentarily before being taken down, in this article:

Pics from The Bolter & Chainsword:

The pic was only on the GW site itself for a short time before being removed.

Looks like a very close match to the classic pic - main differences are the lower jaw (toothless) and the long tentacly lowermost limbs.

You know, the Lugft Huron Chapter Master of the Astral Claws model would be perfect as the chapter-master/similar peice for any lion themed Chapter (or with just a hint of lion about them, hello DA and their successors), or just any chapter really, you could just say that the lionhead is a personal symbol or symbol of office. I'm actually surpriceded I have not seen it being used for any of the armies I have seen in WD:s or on fanpages

"This is The Galaxy’s Greatest: 2000 AD at 45 – the star-studded online convention celebrating four and a half decades of the groundbreaking British comic! Have you always wanted to step into the shoes of your favourite 2000 AD character and explore their world? We talk to the legendary games creator Sir Ian Livingstone, games developer Andy Chambers and Duncan Molloy from Rebellion's board games division, Rebellion Unplugged, about 2000 AD board games and RPGs."

    2000 AD: The Great Game(s) - The Galaxy's Greatest: 2000 AD @ 45 - YouTube

For those of you unfamiliar 2000AD was a huge influence on 40k. The grimdark tone in particular comes from 2000AD. Comic strips like Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper and Nemises the Warlock in particular on 40k have been huge.

Since non have talked about it: Warhammer Preview Online: AdeptiCon – All the Massive Reveals Are Right Here

    Here are some thoughts:

The biggest thing I would say was: The Horus Heresy's New Edition Revealed in this Jaw-Dropping Cinematic Trailer

followed by the sneak peek at some of the new plastic miniatures for 30k. Outside of their main function do I think they can be of great use for those that wants to make Firstborn SM in 40k, and hopefully they will not be as puch-fit as e.g. the Black Templars Castellan, and will be gold mines for spare parts (I can see some real uses for that Sons of Horus Praetor's pauldrona and heads)

There is also the Necromunda: Ash Wastes Revealed in Full

Beside the main function do I think the Ash Wastes Nomads can be of great use for those that wants to make =][= acolytes, IG rough riders, alternative IG:s, genestealers, Nurgle sworn (Papa N already have an insect theme, and the disreputable look fits him).
The Dustback Helamites can also be use in AoS as a count-as for any other mount.

Warhammer Underworlds got a new warband: The Exiled Dead - who I think would be a good base for servitors, or Nurgle sworn/zombies. And Deintalos the Exiled is perfect for any kind of psyker or sorcerer role.

Chaos Knights got an update with some new models and both Imperial and Renagade Knights got new codexes

AoS got some new senario with a Ghur theme: The Realm of Beasts (Literally) Comes to Life - which can be used in 40k if people want, and the Krondspine Incarnate can be used as a count-as daemon, Eldar Avatar, or just a unaligned monster.

And the Undead got a new ghost: A Terrifying New Nighthaunt Character Emerges From the Briny Deep - who I have no idea how to use in 40k, beside as a bit source, but there are likly others that have an idea.

And as the last thing did they go back to 40k again and revealed that Chaos Space Marines are going to get 2 Wounds: A Glimpse at a Very Dark Future - and I think those models we only saw glimts of are new.

Do people have any ideas for other uses of those new models, or other thoughts?

Finished Gaunt 12 today. This took me many months. I read the same 2 words every day for most of that time for my reading list purpose but the past few days I went back to this as my main read of the day. I had a blast once back on full time.

    Onwards to 13.

Amazon UK delivery today had 40K: Inferno Presents the Inquisition (along with a few other non-WH books). Book came out in 2021 and is basically short stories about the Inquisition. Inquisitors are probably my favorite part of 40K. (I don't think I made it past the first few Gaunt books - they didn't do much for me.)

Started playing the new 40k game last night, Chaos Gate: Daemon Hunter. It’s an X-COM style turn based squad game, and surprisingly good. Surprisingly difficult too. It has all the bells and whistles of X-COM 2, voice acted characters, lavish animations, customizable troopers, and deep gameplay systems that are easy to learn but difficult to master. Highly recommend.

Finished Gaunt 13 and the included shorts. Very fun.

Im now on 14 and it’s the 1st single book I’ve yet read vs an omni so the font is reallyyyyyy messing with me. I also really hope I’m not missing any shorts. I wish Victory 2 had been ready to go when I was at this point.
